Excellent place
Jeffrey1952on 24/06/2017 21:03We have just returned from a 2 night stay and I can honestly say it was such a welcome and friendly place. We were first met my Daren who checked us in and took us to our room, he was very freindly and told us a good place to go and visit. We then met RI who could not do enough for you. She made sure our orders for our meal was correct and gave us some good advice. The atmosphere was good and the accomodation was just what you needed. I would certainly recommend this place to anyone. We enjoyed sitting outside in the garden area as it was so pleasant . We will look forward to our next visit.
Great range of pies and pub food

Extensive menu mainly based around their homemade range of pies that range from steak and ale to vegetarian. Good flavours and various pie topping combinations. The largest comes just over 1lb in weight although with 3 days notice they will produce a 10lb pie! Extensive drinks menu and range of local ales. Only gripe was the somewhat small portion of chips that came with my pie. Others in the group were more than satisfied.
Ideal place for a relaxing break
johnclifford13on 11/06/2017 21:34Set in lovely surroundings. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Rooms are comfortable and clean. The food was suburb and nothing is too much trouble and breakfast was very good. Will defiantly visit again.
Great place to stay
anivoon 10/06/2017 23:40We have just come home from a two night stay at The Farmers Boy Inn and could not fault the hospitality of all the staff and especially Ri's help and lovely personality. The room was very cosy with a king size bed and big shower. The six rooms were in a courtyard with own table and chairs outside each one but sadly we had lots of rain and couldn't take advantage of this. The food was superb both for breakfast and dinner with great home made pies and locally sourced products. The pies were so good we brought some home! The Inn is in a good location on the edge of the A40 to visit Ross-on-Wye, Monmouth, Hereford and other areas of the Forest of Dean. Our only issue was that we were using Google Maps to find places in the Forest and we kept losing the signal and got lost several times! Thank you for a superb stay and we will definitely see you again.

whittlea1on 07/06/2017 21:44we travelled from South Wales to stay at Farmers Boy, it was GREAT! the surroundings were Beautiful, the accommodation was lovely and very comfortable , so handy for places of interest, Staff very good, and the food was outstanding!!, would recommend to any one travelling in this lovely part of the country.
