Lunch and wine tasting
Arob1962on 03/08/2017 17:00We just did a wint tasting and lunch tour at this beautiful estate. It statted out great. We wete warmly wlecomed. Had a glass of wine and were shown the cask room where the wines were aged. Then we were show to the dining room where we had a geeat lunch. The disappointing part was that after lunch they said thanks for coming and left us. There was no wine tasting. We were planning on. Uying a couple of cased etc bit they never tried to show us anything.
Not a huge diaspointmebt as they lunch was great and they wete very hospitable. Not sure where the disconnect was but thete are plenty of wineries in italy.
Beautiful, friendly place to stay
eveannesleyon 24/07/2017 16:50I had a wonderful stay at Fattoria San Donato. The quality of the rooms, hospitality, food and wine were exceptional, and the location is simply stunning. The hosts are so generous and welcoming, we were really made to feel relaxed and at home. All in all a perfect holiday, would definitely return and recommend- Thank you!
Just perfect
Anthony Con 14/07/2017 07:56We chose San donato as our hotel was a 2 minute walk away (casolare terre rosse)
We opted for lunch and wine tasting, 16 euros each. An absolute bargain a great selection of wines, 5 bottles to be precise, and lovely platter of hams, cheeses, olives and garlic bread. Beautiful place, very friendly owners and delicious wines.
So enjoyable we did a second visit
Tuscan perfection
dickonfotheringayon 10/07/2017 17:06Apart from the shower (which flooded the bathroom and the hall! - weird design!) everything about the room and the farm is wonderful. The wine and oil are matchless, the swimming pool is heavenly with natural shade from the trees, and the owners are charming. The breakfasts are excellent, though no dinner was available when we stayed so can't comment on that. But the tip for a restaurant in San Gimignano turned out to be exactly what we were looking for. And last but not least, the whole experience was extremely affordable. Well done, keep it up (though maybe redesign the shower?!).
Quaint and beautiful
ToriBowon 09/07/2017 20:11My stay here was everything you would expect from staying at a Tuscan farm/ winery! Picturesque views, delicious foods and wines, and old world charm everywhere you look. Our dinner and breakfast were flavorful and authentic to Tuscany. The owners were incredibly warm and friendly, always willing to help. There is a laundry facility (not free), and detergent is included. Wifi is free, but is spotty. Our room, which accommodated five people, was spacious, beautiful, and old-wordly. It is nicely situated not too far outside of Siena. If you are ever in Tuscany, it's worth a little detour to spend a night and experience the real Tuscany.
