What People are saying

Great breakfast and location. No air conditioning

on 19/04/2017 00:08

We stayed at this hotel for three nights on a family trip to Beijing. The hotel didn't have air conditioning and nobody at the reception desk could speak more than a very few English words but it had a wonderful breakfast and a great location. The hotel is well located close to the second ring and a few minutes with no traffic to the Forbidden City. Not to mention has a Starbucks, banks and convenience stores at walking distance. The lobby area and hall was beautiful with glass ceiling that made the space sunny and bright but the area didn't have air conditioning either. The bedrooms are very outdated. They are in need of a total overhaul. We were in the floor were smoking wasn't allowed but still one of the rooms we had had a smell like at some point someone was smoking there. The smell was bad only in one room but not in the other one. The carpet was very old with stains all over. Our room was changed to a different one but still was very outdated. When we got to the room the air conditioning was off. I called the reception desk to tell them the air conditioning wasn't working but the receptionist couldn't understand me. Then someone came to my room and with signs said I had to open the window. Opening the window wasn't also a good option because of the noise of cars on the second ring. Then we found out the central air was off and will be turned on by the beginning of May. We thought in changing our hotel but the breakfast, the good location and the drop of the temperature a few degrees made us stay there.
Everyone at the hotel was very friendly and even though at the reception nobody spoke English they did their best to understand us using their cell phone for translation.
We won't stay there again unless we know they remodel the rooms and have air conditioning but for sure we will remember some of the Chinese dishes in the breakfast as the bests ones we had in China.

First Visit to Beijing

Michael Gon 12/02/2017 03:14

Our first visit to Beijing was to see my brother who has resided there for 5 years so a hotel close to him was needed. We decided on the Feitian Hotel and were not disappointed in the price, cleanliness and helpful staff. I will be making regular trips back to Beijing and this hotel will suit me just fine. Location was good also and taxi's are cheap so to get to Silk Street or similar places to shop was an easy journey.

lack convenience, but overall, pretty good for it's price

every taxi driver knows this place, but not all knows how to get there in the shortest distance (it's kindly along the freeway, and some taxi driver thinks you can only get off from one ramp... there's actually a back door which is more accessible)

subway is a good 10-15 minute walk, so taxi is the way to go if this is where you're staying (luckily, it's easy to get one just outside)

rooms are good size w/ classic decor, shower and tub, isolated toilet area, carpet is a little bit stained (they've got disposable slippers).

Had their buffet breakfast, lunch & dinner (was at a conference)... if you have zero expectation then you'll be fine...

don't think there's a convenient store nearby, so better grab your daily items while you're out

Modern and surprisingly restful hotel

ILStourtonon 15/07/2016 15:11

I found this a surprisingly restful hotel, mainly due to the glass domed interior courtyard. This encloses the restaurant and a large area with comfortable seating. Shops sit around the courtyard. The reception is also on this floor.
Breakfast was good with a large selection of Chinese and European cuisine. There are a few comfortable seats in the buffet area, but I preferred one of the tables in the main courtyard.
The bedrooms could be bigger but are comfortable and modern. Mine has a bathroom with bath and a walk-in-shower.
Many, many, light switches makes it a bit confusing, especially when you arrive late after a long day. You need a good 15 minutes to sort out which switches do what. I found the light switch to the toilet area but couldn't get the lights to the shower area to work. Assumed they had fused till the following morning when a found a further 3 switches on another wall, cunningly hidden outside the bathroom in a corner wall.
I would definitely stop here again, good standard of hotel.
