Lovely Apartment

DWaldieon 23/07/2017 19:53

We stayed here for two weeks at the end of June 2017. Our adult daughter stayed with us for one week. I'll try an avoid repeating what others have said but rather give some more objective information.

We booked a two bedroom apartment on the second floor. The apartment is not your usual holiday let, it's actually a real apartment with two double rooms, one bathroom/toilet (with bidet) and another separate toilet. It also had a full sized lounge with two full sized sofas. It also had a full length balcony running across the main bedroom and lounge. As such, it was huge, for a holiday apartment. It was fully equipped with full-size fridge/freezer, oven and hob, filter coffee machine and espresso percolator. The benefit of having a real washing machine was superb: Clean beach towels every day. The apartment was immaculate except for the counter-panes, which looked a bit grubby. The only real fault we found.

Like many Mediterranean resorts, you are expected to remove you own rubbish. The recycle bins are about 150metres away.

The apartments are unserviced, so you have to tidy up after yourself. We got a full set of sheets each week (just like home!) and plenty of towels twice per week.

The apartments are about 200-300 metres from the Playa El Playazo beach. Whilst it's probably the longest in Nerja, it's not particularly nice, being mainly gravel and pebbles and rocky at the shoreline. Not a problem if you use beach shoes, but the other beaches are better. Playa de la Torrecilla is about 300-400 metres away and is much nicer, but busier. All the beaches have toilets and shower facilities and at least one beach bar.

There is car parking available under the apartments at 10euro per day and street parking is at a premium, but there are two large car parks within 100 metres, and we always found places pretty easily. There is a large supermarket (Mas) about 400 metres away.

The apartments have a rooftop "terrace" which, to be honest, is a tiled rooftop which you share with numerous air-con units. It might be worthwhile in march/April when you want some shelter, but it makes no sense otherwise. There is a small splash pool which seems to cause some consternation when people arrive as they don't seem to understand it's not a full sized pool. Not an issue unless you don't like the beach. If that is the case, go somewhere else.

The owner of the apartment is in his office for most of the day and shows you to your apartment. His English is no better than my Spanish, but good enough. He's also a really nice bloke.

Despite what some other reviews mention, our room had a safe, and I don't recall having to pay extra. We had an air-con unit in the main bedroom and the lounge and it's was easy to cool the place down to well below an English summer (bloody cold at the minute!).

There are some really nice bars/restaurants within a couple of hundred metres. A bit cheaper than in town and more personal. As the apartments are near the RUI Monica, the half-board guests tend to use these bars and it does have a slight air of little Britain, but with older clientele at some of the bars. They're easy to spot as they are the only ones advertising British beer. The Jamaica is really nice, and very good value, with, at times, typical Spanish (read chaotic) service.

All in all, one of the best apartments we have stayed in and, other than the counterpanes, almost perfect. We will definitely go back.

Amazing place close to everything!

We have been here twice...this time we had the rooftop apartment and as usual the place was spotlessly clean...the maid gives you fresh towels..and the owner, who lives opposite sorts any problem you may have (we had a kettle that didn't work but within 2 mins he replaced!) if I ever came again to nerja..this Is the only place I would stay! Amazing value for money, and 2 mins from the beach..5 mins from the town!

Had a very comfortable stay at Fercomar Apartments in Nerja. Antonio was very helpful and no bother leaving a bit later to fit in with taxi pick up. I left my Kindle behind. I wonder if anyone has an email address for Fercomar, please?

Excellent location. 5 mins walk from Centre. Manager very accommodating. Met us on arrival when we were lost & printed our return flight boarding cards no problem. Towels changed twice in week. Spacious 2 bed apt with wifi & all amenities. Highly recommended. Loved our stay.

Comfy, central and well equipped apartments

We had a very enjoyable xmas in nerja staying at Fercomar apt. We were met by the owner Antonio after midnight and given a guided tour of apt. The apt are well situated with only a 5-10 min walk to Balcon de Europe and restaurants. Also situated in quiet area. The apt had comfy bed and settee and patio area. Antonio also kindly gave us a lift to the bus station, many thanks Antonio!
