What People are saying

Beautiful hotel and great staff!

Doug Mon 16/08/2017 13:37

We traveling with 8 people on a motorcycle tour in the Alps and this was the nicest hotel of our entire trip. As others have posted, the view from this hotel is stunning and the facilities are top notch. However, the most important amenity is the friendly and hospitable staff. All of the staff - from the front desk to restaurant and bar - are wonderful. It was a pleasure meeting Karl-Heinz and spending the evening discussing motorcycles with him, his staff and friends. They are all gracious hosts. I will definitely return to the Ferienhotel Fernblick in the future.

Quiet relaxation

luxe_travelLondonon 12/08/2017 17:01

I stayed at the Ferienhotel Fernblick in August 2017, and overall, it was a very enjoyable stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food was good (with an unexpected complimentary lunch every day), and the surroundings are simply stunning. Perfect for a few days of peace and quiet, with some hiking and relaxation. The pool and relaxation areas (and there are plenty of those!) were gorgeous, and very tastefully decorated.
Unfortunately one of my spa treatments was spoiled by the male therapist, who seemed completely oblivious to the fact that a female client might not enjoy getting completely naked in front of him (not even turning around when I had to change into the disposable knickers needed for the treatment). I complained about this on check-out, and was told they'd make a note on my profile to allocate me a female therapist next time. I would have expected at least a partial refund on the treatment to be honest, as I felt so uncomfortable throughout, that it was a complete waste of money. (I'm usually not bothered by having a male therapist, and had plenty of full body massages in the past by a male therapist. However this particular treatment (not a massage), and the way it was handled, felt very intrusive and left me with little dignity.)
The bedroom was adequate, but is in need of renovation. Compared to the beautifully decorated public areas, this felt like a let-down. However, the view from the room was outstanding!
Nice touch on check-out to get a home-made cake to take with you.

Top hotel

Where the rooms did not get my top marks it was certainly made up in other areas (all areas), the staff and owners are just fantastic, the best pools I have been in for a very long time, very helpful and the food, oh yes the food, 5 *****

Fantastic setting, good restaurant, excellent service

I was at the hotel for business but it was nice enough to want to go back with wife/family. Very welcoming and attentive staff (smiling in their traditional costumes).
Food very good, service done properly, good wines at very sensible prices. Lovely setting for winter activities (make sure the car is properly equipped to get up here) and I imagine also very nice without snow.
Good value and overall very nice.
In particular for business use, I would say that the only poor mark is the wifi quality and speed - and I had no signal in the bedroom. Some might see this as an advantage, of course...

Magic Mountain Hotel

This hotel is among the best I ever stayed. The views are nothing but spectacular. In particular the pool is one of its kind with breathtaking views over the valley and impressive mountains. The food was excellent, freshly prepared with local ingredients, and very generously available all day long. On top of all this I have rarely met more welcoming hotel staff. The owners have a very good hand in recruiting super friendly and competent people. Their presence and involvement gives the whole hotel a homelike comfortable feeling. We felt pleasantly pampered and will certainly come back.
