Great welcoming family hotel - highly recommended

Really lovely family run hotel.
Eva and family created such a friendly relaxed atmosphere
The hotel is right on the beach with deck chairs etc.but what was really great was the swimming pool which was shaded and offered the opportunity to really cool off from the really hot sun.
The hotel has excellent restaurants right next door, so really perfect. Our favourite was
Taverna Galera
The town of Rethymno is €5 taxi ride.
Also the WIFI works well which is sometimes a luxury in some island hotels.
The service was amazing. Eva ordered and personally picked up beautiful birthday cakes for us ,which was so great for the kids.
So here is a special thank you to Eva and of course Hector ( the dog )

I have stayed 1 week in this hotel and do not regret a minute or cent I spent here.Yes, we booked all in timely manner and in advance, therefore got room with amazing view, upstairs space for two beds, downstairs mini lounge with balcony... Eva's and her team hospitality are amazing. Simple, ordinary, with sense of humor and the most welcome.
There are people who prefer posh hotels with duty smile employees, if you prefer homely atmosphere with natural, friendly, welcoming, feeling like apart of family and! Relax, here is Greece meaning, (you are not stressed person by nature) - you will love here.
I give 10 stars from 5.

My second stay at prescious Filoxenia!
And just like first time me and my grandmother enjoyed our stay.
Eva and her lovely crew/family and sweet dog Hector are always there to help and will do anything to make your holiday perfect and relaxed
Filoxenia feels just like home with great rooms and delish homemade breakfast. Breathtakin seaview and close to rethimno town and best restaurant nearby.
Close to the beach with hot saltwater and a great swimmingpool to cool down in.
I cant really say anythin bad about this place!
Only thing If I absolutely have to say something is that the rooms needs some hangers/hooks to hang up your clothes..
And the wi fi could be better BUT thats just small details

Had a fantastic relaxing week here and hope to return next year. The hotel is a short walk to Rethmynon old town which is lovely or a cheap taxi ride away . The hotel is spotlessly clean with great rooms with everything you need to make your stay more comfortable.The seaviews from the balcony are amazing and the sunrise and sunset are seen with beautuiful views of the fortress in the town.The lovely family work well to make your stay as perfect as it could be and the breakfast is a great variety.We didn't use the pool much only because the sea is on the doorstep.There are a few restaurants around the hotel and excursions can be arranged which are recommended. We would happily have stayed longer than we did and would love to return next year.

You know that moment when you come somewhere and you normally pay and after that you go in your room and nobody make you feel welcome ? Ok, I think everybody knows that moment, but here to Filoxenia Stylish Beach Hotel is totally different. From the first time, I felt like home. The owners are very friendly ( and the dog 🐕 which they have, of course ) and they are kind persons and make you feel welcome. The hotel has an exit on the beach, so you can enjoy the view and the intimate beach ⛱. In every morning, you can enjoy the breakfast ( Swedish buffet ) which is fresh and healthy and the opening hours among you can eat are reasonable ( 8am-11am) - perfect to stay in bed more 😉. The rooms are cleaned every day. My room was big, quiet with a balcony which offers you an amazing view to the sea. The location of the hotel is near to other restaurants.🍝
If you need to stay in Rethymno, Crete, I strongly recommend the Filoxenia Stylish Beach Hotel. You will live a great experience. 👍
