Serious Security Issues - Hotel is NOT safe

Our rent-a-car was broken into on the hotel grounds. Knowing that there are thefts in the country, we actually did not leave anything in the car. We never thought that a car at the hotel is at risk for thefts. This is more surprising because the hotel is surrounded by a barbed-wire covered fence and the only way in and out is a security gate, manned 24-hours. More surprising, the break-in occurred on the only day that we left the car alone for an all-day excursion that the hotel set up and it occurred right next to a building that staff go in and out of all day. Worst, at least 1 other car was also broken into (see picture). We learned of the break-in when we headed out for dinner. Starving and frustrated, we alerted the hotel. The man at the desk did not offer consolation, did not ask us if we lost anything or if we needed anything, and did not offer to provide us with food. He just kept saying we had to go to the police station to fill out a report. He did not offer us a way to the police station, nor directions. As it turned out, the police station had already closed.

Long story short, after three hours on the phone that night (Friday) with Alamo and American Express and dealing with Infosys (the adjuster) and the tow company, we were starving and still received no support from the hotel. The next day (Saturday), we spent three hours at the police station to get the police report that we needed for the insurance claim. We could not get a rent-a-car for the rest of the trip because we could not trust that it would be safe. Also, if it was broken into on our last night, we would have to delay our flight home to get the police report.

The hotel never offered any support and never asked us if we were ok. Instead, when we checked out, they tried to charge us $8 for the phone calls to Alamo.

Had a most wonderful, relaxing time at the Floris Suites and Moomba Beach Club! Excellent service, good food, great location and lots of convenience. I especially appreciated the beautiful, lush landscaping of the grounds and the low-key privacy of the beach club. Was looking to get away from NYC, unplug and recharge. Couldn’t have picked a better resort or island. Jerrick, who bartends at the Floris, was friendly, helpful, offered lots of tips and local insight, and it was a pleasure to meet him daily for the free happy hour the Floris provides its guests. At Moomba Beach Club, Norman and Stephanie were just as friendly and ensured a pleasant visit to the beach.

I’ve been to many islands, and Curacao is now one of my top favorites. It has it’s own laid-back vibe, plenty of gorgeous beaches, parks and things to do. Can’t say enough good things about the Floris Suites and its private Moomba Beach. I highly recommend and would love to return in the future.

This hotel was very clean and the staff was very friendly. When you walk into this hotel it is beautiful and very modern. There is a bar and restrooms right at the front of the hotel. Our room was huge, the beds were comfortable and the bathroom/shower was massive, modern and clean. Our only complaint about the kitchen is that only 1 burner worked (it worked to full capacity). Our entrance had shelving for all of our clothes. If you rent a vehicle there is a vast amount of parking available at no charge. We had a patio that we could drink our coffee & tea outside every morning and then go to the pool for a swim or to tan. The pool was lovely, they cleaned it a couple of times while we were there and it looked like they may be re doing it. The only thing about the pool is that there was no swim up bar. Around the pool however is a bar, with many tables and chairs for socialization. There are also cabanas where you can get away from the sun but also enjoy the pool view. The hotel itself was very reasonable priced per night, I would return to this hotel every time I am in Curacao - which will be often as it is now my favourite destination location to go!

I went to the Floris suites hotel the last week of my vacation. We rented this apartment right at the beach. The view every morning was amazing. The apartment was right on the private beach of the hotel, so all I had to do to brighten my mornings was get up and open the curtains.
The apartment didn't include room service , but there was a stove, a fridge, microwave... 2 bathrooms, one for each bedroom and we had 3 beds. It's close enough to the city and yet so peaceful.
If the kids are bored or have nothing to do, just kick them into the ocean. Ours didn't leave till their tummies started growling hahaha.
They also had this beach club or bar, don't exactly know what they called it, but you could order some drinks or something to eat, like sandwiches. And they brought it to you on the beach.
It was definitely a great stay and I would recommend this for family, solo or couples retreat. Everyone and anyone can enjoy themselves there!!!

The rooms are huge and come equipped with a full kitchen. The offer an all inclusive option if you choose. We were only there for 2 days, so we did not have all inclusive. Everyday from 5-6 they have happy hour that includes 2 free beers or glasses of wine. The ambiance is perfect for honeymooners and lovers.
