Excellent location, excellent staff

Lovely room in an historic building. Air conditioning works well so no need to worry about that Sri Lankan heat and humidity. Staff are lovely. Complementary water in rooms and cold water kept in a communal fridge. Breakfast is a set menu of a fabulous fruit platter, homemade bread and jam, eggs any way you want them with bacon and tomato. All yumm. Very short walk to all the attractions and many restaurants. Staff will help with suggestions for any question you have. Has the only pool inside the fort.

Wonderful dinner

My husband and I enjoyed a fantastic dinner here whilst on our honeymoon. The service was excellent- friendly and efficient. We enjoyed passionfruit mojitos in the peaceful and elegant lobby area and then enjoyed some of the best food we've had all trip for dinner in the courtyard. The food was fresh and beautifully prepared and the atmosphere of the restaurant was lovely with great jazz music playing in the background. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend the fort printers whether you fancy popping in for just a cocktail or want an enjoyable culinary experience.

Excellent all round

We stayed two nights in the Fort in two rooms , the hotel was in an excellent location and the rooms were immaculate and very quiet. We liked the touches of home made soap and toiletries . The staff were really helpful and we met the owner who was excellent company . The pool was a really pleasant retreat .

The evening food was more suited to adults so we ate out on both nights and there was lots of good value choice...the hotel gave us recommendations .

The breakfasts were very nice and they do their best to accommodate requirements

Terrible mattress ...

The atmosphere and the service is 5 star, but the bed is 1 star, that's why the result is an average 3. Nice interior design, even if here are some small problems in the rooms. The big problem is the bed: The mattress is built to prevent a good sleep, which is a problem for a hotel...

First class stay in Galle

The Fort Printers was an extremely nice property that we stayed at in Galle. I would highly recommend it to anyone hoping to stay in the walled fort.

The property has a deep history and is located in the best part of the fort, everything is within a few blocks walk. The hotel is exquisite with extremely nice furniture, bedding, food, and ambiance. The pool in the restaurant area is great for a dip, and the staff is very friendly.

We really liked Peter, the main concierge. The food was great - we had the included Sri Lankan curry breakfast and thought that it was one of the best meals of the trip. Our bedding was lovely and we really couldn't have asked for a better stay here! If you want to spend a night or a few nights in GAlle, this is the place to book.
