Really lovely B&B!
Izzie Don 11/05/2017 09:53We stayed here for 4 nights in May and thought it was great.
Pros: The room is lovely, a great size and very comfortable. The bathroom was very clean and the shower was powerful which we were pleasantly surprised by! The garden is beautiful and was fab to sit and chill in the sunshine. The location was brilliant as we were a short walk from the main sites, and the area surrounding had some really lovely little bars, cafes and restaurants. Just around the corner was a restaurant called Fuoco Matto which I highly recommend if you stay here! There was also a lot of freedom and we felt secure as there is a code to get in the front door, so you can come and go as you please. Martina was also lovely when we met her briefly.
Cons: Not really any! When we wanted to check-in there was no one around, but this was ok as we just popped to the bar at the top of the street and waited for half an hour and called Martina. She then gave use the door code and our room number so we could get in. We were in room 2 which was lovely but is right next to the kitchen area where people have breakfast/check out so was sometimes loud in the mornings. The only other issue we had was that the WiFi wasn't working during our stay. Martina explained this was because they were switching providers so of course this wasn't her fault, and didn't become much of an issue as most of the cafes/bars in Florence have free WiFi anyway. This then meant we couldn't pay by card for our room, but Martina was very apologetic and helpful and said she would simply take the payment once the internet was fixed, as we booked through Booking.com.
Overall a really lovely B&B in a great location, and good value in comparison to other places around Florence. Would recommend!
A warm Cottage in Florence/ Best location for the price!
Arlene Lon 29/04/2017 21:07Love the room, huge and private cottage ambience. Bathroom is great, neat and clean. The hallway smells lavender. Breakfast is very simple, something to start your day. There is a electric water pot inside the room, you may bring your own tea or Instant coffee. The house is 15 mins walk to Duomo Piazza- Everything happens and start there . In short you cAn visit everything in Florence by just walking from the house.
CONS : 1. Be sure to email the owner/manager or watch for her email to get the code number to enter their gate. Or else you will be like us who waited for more than 30 mins in the rain. Martina said she emailed me the code but I checked I didn't receive any.
2. The house is old, and so you will hear every step in the ceiling . We are very tired to be even bothered by the noise, we still had good nights sleep.
3. If you get room #1 chances are you will have the same experience. You will hear the people conversation passing by on the street. But again, we were too tired to be affected by that .
Martine is very helpful
danfamharon 21/04/2017 20:37Cosy house is not too far from the train station. The road and footpaths are rough on the wheels of your luggage however, we had ours jam up and wear out. FYI. It is a little difficult to find if you don't have gps on your phone as it is just a door with a buzzer. Martine was very welcoming even when we got there a couple of hours earlier and she took us straight to our room. She went down the street and bought some milk and coffee pods for me to use in the machine when I asked. The walls are very thin in the rooms as we heard the neighbours in the next room talking clearly and also the tv and then snoring all night. This is the only negative. The rooms clean, reasonably big for the two of us and breakfast was adequate.
Alright stay
Amy Son 01/02/2017 09:47Pros:
-spacious room
-spacious bathroom with a great, high pressure shower
-great location (15 minute walk to main Florence area with attractions); lots of restaurants and wine bars near by
-close walk to train station
-includes a simple and filling breakfast
Cons:
-no WiFi (we were told that the wifi was not working when we arrived; when we asked the host when it will be fixed, she said that she didn't know)
-host not very hospitable (she was not rude by any means, but just not talkative and did not offer any information or help)
We chose this B&B based on the reviews that it was "loved by guests". It was just surprising that the host was not very personable or tried in any way to make our stay more homey. The WiFi problem was a bit annoying too. Maybe because it's low season, she didn't feel the need to be a courteous host? Other than that, it was a decent 3 night stay but you can probably find something for that price point.
Very warm and comfortable- Shabby-Chic
CaliLove71on 04/07/2016 04:18Cosy House is about a 5-7 minute walk from the train station and about a 10 minute walk to the Duomo. The owner and host is lovely! She is very knowledgable and helped map out how to get to all of the places we wanted to see as well as to recommend local restaurants. Our room was white Shabby-Chic style- very comfy. There was air conditioning, a mini fridge and well stocked bathroom. The bed was comfortable and the shower had good pressure. There was a large variety of foods for breakfast- something for everyone and juice and coffee too. We had a wonderful time in Florence and if we are lucky to come back, would definitely stay here again!
