Studiodogon 19/03/2017 09:16Shared a condo at the inn with another couple for nice cross country weekend. Beautiful groomed trails and scenery. Food at inn just okay. Enjoyed lunch at Mazama Country Store and fun dinner at local Irish pub Kelly's. Rentals and lessons easy to get near Mazama store.
Not worth the high price
AmaliaWashingtonon 16/02/2017 02:45It's a perfectly comfortable hotel and it's right on the ski trails, but I can't figure out how they get away with charge double what other comparable places charge here. The only outstanding thing is the gas fireplace in each room. Apart from that, it's just like the $100/night places - soft pine furniture, cheap-ish furniture and bathroom amenities, crappy coffee in the room, just a few TV channels. Not very sound-proof walls. There is a nice restaurant downstairs, so you don't have to leave, which is nice, but the hot tub is shared and you have to go outside to get to it. And astoundingly, there's no internet in the rooms! They could easily get some more routers, as internet is available in the restaurant. Stay at the similar Methow River Lodge & Cabins in Winthrop, which is also on the trails and has great internet (and lovely owners). You can also get a small cabin in Mazama for less money, again with internet.
Amazing hospitality
Jerry & Sandy Aon 06/02/2017 04:01Our fourth visit to Freestone Inn was again exceptional. Jojo and Chip, managers, have encourage their staff to make each guest feel like family. We arrived on a cold winter afternoon to a warm cozy cabin on the river. Patty at the front desk reminded us of all the Inn has to offer and the bar and restaurant manager, Amy, enticed us to try a Moonshine Hot Apple Pie Toddy as we sat in front of a roaring fire in the bar. Chef Wayne's attention to detail makes it hard to choose an entree from the dinner menu.
If you enjoy a warm friendly atmosphere when you need a get-a-way, Freestone Inn and Cabins is the place for you. You can have as much privacy as you want in your room or cabin with the option of friendly service for meals or drinks in the Inn.

Janet Kon 18/01/2017 05:40We came to Heli ski and found the treasure of a restaurant at the Freestone Inn. The food was absolutely perfect in every way and served by a very attentive and wonderful server, McKenzie. As a family, we covered quite a few selections on the menu and a couple of appetizers. Every one was 5 star quality. Didn't catch the chefs name but thanked him when we saw him in the cute bar area where Gentry served up polite conversation and perfectly suggested cocktails.
