November stay
JoannaKateRon 14/11/2016 17:16The couple who run this hostel are extremely sweet and welcoming; however it has the most limited facilities of any hostel I have stayed at (and that's a lot). I estimated there were about 17 bunk beds and at least 1 private room. For all that there is only 1 toilet and 1 bathroom for everyone staying there. Luckily it wasn't full when I stayed last week but I would have hated it if there was a queue of 10 people every time I needed the loo. I waited 30 minutes to use the shower and the woman who runs it came to get me in the end when it finally came free. It is suitable for young backpackers only I think. There is an onsen around the corner which is its saving grace but I didn't use it as too tired after a long day cycling,
Nice hostel
Paracetamollyon 04/07/2015 03:54I basically like everything about Onomichi: the cycling trips, the town and - of course - this hostel. The owner is nice, there's a small kitchen, and comfortable beds. Onomichi wasn't on the top of our Japan itinerary, but we ended up here, and I'm so glad we did. It was a really nice stay!
Nice place to stay
DaniPants1on 30/04/2015 12:20Stayed here as a jumping off point for cycyling the Shimanami Kaido. Hostel is very clean. Beds and comforters are comfy. There is only one toilet and one shower, but there was never a lineup to use it as the place is pretty small. Towels and toiletries are even provided at no extra cost! The kitchen had tea, hot water, and a stove to use. The owner is super helpful. We were trying to send our bags to Imabari, and he made many phone calls to help us sort this out. He even filled out the forms for us in Japanese as we do not read/write/speak the language.
The hostel is located almost across the street from a famous fatty ramen place. It's not too far from the train station. We walked with our heavy packs and it was no problem at all.
I highly recommend staying here.
Very well managed and tidy little japanese guesthouse - nice owner
Sara Bon 30/03/2015 12:35The guesthouse is very clean, the manager is extremely helpful and nice and I have to say I have never seen such a clean place that is managed by just one person!
Towels are provided and changed every day, bed is made every morning and although most people stay only for one night it is worth staying for a couple of days like we did. It is just one hour to Hiroshima and the perfect spot for daytrips around Onomichi.
Definately recommended!
Nice budget Guesthouse
Oryx01on 05/05/2014 16:24The first asset of this place is the friendly owner of the place who will provide you all the information you need to enjoy Onomichi. I enjoyed the fact the hostel is very small (only 2 dorms). The kitchen is well equiped and there is a nice living room.
