What People are saying

Good for a short stay

Neil Fon 21/08/2017 17:55

We stayed one night at the Furnace Creek ranch during our drive between Vegas and San Fran. The setting is quaint with old style shop fittings and cabins etc. We were given a warm welcome (not just the temperature!) and given helpful information regarding the various amenities etc.

The room was fairly basic but okay for a short stay, as were the offerings within the bar, but given the proximity of the place and conditions it exists within that is to be expected.

The ranch is very shabby and not well kept.

We were disappointed with the ranch - our room whilst clean had a nasty smell in it, made worse by the air con. The shop on site was about to be relocated but was so empty it looked like something out of the walking dead. One of the restaurants had closed and the buffet one looked dark and dingy. Reception staff whilst not rude were definitely not welcoming either.
The pool was really nice and needed in the baking sun. We did a road trip from Vegas to San Francisco so stopped here one night, we wish we had drove through and pushed onto our next stop Mammoth Lakes which was stunning and really needed more than one night there.
Sorry Furness Creek - yours was the poorest stop we had in our two weeks and 7 hotel stop offs.

FC Ranch - good for one night - WYSIWYG

not many alternatives in the valley, stayed here for one night, and the ranch is basic, but we knew that before booking so no surprises: What you see is what you get, a more 'motel' style place. Great pool, and the restaurant staff was very knowledgeable and helpful for the glutenfree food requirements we have!

Don't be put off from the look

The place looks quite basic from the outside, a little down market compared to the photographs in the brochure.
The staff were very friendly , even the cleaners.
The rooms were comfortable the decor is OK. Air conditioning and ceiling fans were wonderful after a few hours driving through the desert.
Coffee making in the room was welcome and the shower was good, again important after a long desert drive.
There is a little museum about mining borax in the grounds, very good shop full of useful things for the area as well as groceries for those camping.
enjoyed watching the bats outside at dusk.
breakfast was ok but nothing special.
enjoyed the stop over on the whole

A very Good experience

We stayed as a family ( 2 kids and 2 adults) in their double room in June 2017. The room is regular - nothing special in terms of size, cleanliness, amenities etc. The experience of staying in the middle of death valley is unique and the rooms are fairly priced keeping in mind the location. The free WIFI is average and you can complete all the basic tasks with it. The diner at the resort serves basic food and is good. Since breakfast was not included in the room rate we skipped it. Overall we had a very good experience and would visit again.
