Bad young woman staff when check in at ONCRI, Saga

743fanniecon 11/08/2016 05:27

When the young woman staff who greet us with welcome drink , she was very impolite to show me her facial expression like this(╯_╰)when asking what we want to drink, we have 4 people so i need to ask one by one and let her know what we want to drink, however, she was very impolite and repeat to tell me that ONCRI only have orange juice & coffee, she just showed me that she is very unhappy and no more patience, actually the process just takes about 7-8 seconds and there was no people waiting for check in at that time, the lobby was empty without any other guest, i really don't understand how can she treating customer without any patience ? How can she letting customer to feel her feeling and show me she was very unhappy !??

Further more, she lead us to our room after the welcome drink, the room was smelly and full of heavy smoky smell, I have requested deodorant before arrival but i cannot find on the room, therefore, i asked this young woman staff to get me the deodorant, she was just showed me the same facial expression (╯_╰)and told me that " I Don't speak English ! " her attitude was very unhelpful and impolite, then i asked her to give me a paper & pen so that i can write down in Japan / Chinese, she was just indicated that the paper & pen are placing on the small table, i spent 10 seconds but cannot find, she never & ever give me a hand to assist but just stand and see. After few seconds, i found out the paper & pen to write down (除臭劑 ) deodorant by myself.

I cannot believe Agora hotel group could allow staff with such a attitude to the customer.

Impressive

Stay here for 2 nights. The weather here is so good. I can see waterfall from the room. The food was so good. It is quite far but if you want to get away and relax, I recommend here. The staffs were helpful.

A nice onsen ryokan

L-Busteron 10/06/2015 23:35

This hotel is located in a somewhat remote area. We rented a car for our Kyushu trip and it was only a short 1.5 hour drive from Fukuoka. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a staff who spoke reasonably good English. The staffs working here seemed to be much younger than other onsen ryokans that I have visited before, but that didn't affect the service quality. Most of the public area of the hotel has been recently renovated, except for the public onsen (I think). Some of the rooms has also been renovated too, but we opted for the older rooms because of the cost. Our plan included Italian style dinner and buffet breakfast, and both were excellent. The choice for the breakfast was plenty and the quality was top-notch.

In summary, we enjoyed our stay. Service was excellent, which was what one can expect from most hotels in Japan. The remoteness of the area might be a turn off for some, but we enjoyed the peacefulness and quietness.

Not many options in this town

Oncri sounded appealing to me when having visited the website. It appears to have been renovated from an old traditional hotel to a more trendy modern atmosphere hotel.

We arrived somewhat late close to 5pm as we drove from Kumamoto to Furuyu onsen area in Saga. It took more than expected. The moment we arrived at the lobby car drop-off area, we were immediately attended by one of the staff and the car was driven away to a parking space.

First impression was very good. We were served with welcome tea, wet hand towel and a small sweet snack. And then we were escorted to the room on the 4F. The room is about 10 tatami mat large, which was more than big for two people to spend a good night stay.

What I found somewhat mismatching with the room itself is the decoration on the side of the room, created with some plastic panels with some red lines painted on each of the panel. I would have preferred a normal 'Kakejuku' a traditional Japanese painting.

The dinner was served in a large banquet area but with partitions segregating the space. The waitresses were generally young and appeared to be students from local college or university.

The breakfast had a plenty of choices and it was served in a lobby restaurant. However, given the size of the hotel itself, the restaurant space seemed a bit too cozy. We ended up finding a counter space outside the restaurant and bring food outside.

Overall, if you are keen on visiting Furuyu onsen area, the place is recommended. However, I would be more tempted to explore other options.
