Rustic, Charming, and Comfortable
jacknmacksmomon 16/08/2017 19:05Stayed here in a one-bedroom suite with our two teens. The hotel is very conveniently located right next to the ferry as you arrive on the island. Understand if you've never been to a Gulf Island before that they are very rustic, but are incredibly beautiful and great for outdoor activities and relaxing to visit. The Inn is a reflection of this. The staff and host are extremely nice and go out of their way to welcome you, the restaurant is very good, the grounds are beautiful, and the view is excellent. The room itself was lovely, with lots of room, a spacious and functional kitchen, and a nice patio with an outdoor fireplace. But (and there's always a but, isn't there?), there's no front desk staff essentially after 6 pm, which means if you have any problems or need something, too bad. Not a big deal, except the power went out on our side of the island. Now, that is out of their control and there's little they could do about it, but their response was to essentially hand us a lantern and say have a good sleep. Perhaps they could have explained that having no power on an island means more than darkness. It means there was no running water, or so little water being pumped that we couldn't flush a toilet, have a shower, or brush our teeth. Had we known, maybe we would have grabbed some bottled water, or heck, maybe they could have provided that. No wifi, no light, no water, no power to our fridge, but also no refund or credit. Perhaps they could have issued a pizza coupon or just provided a sheet with some information on it as to what to do in case of an emergency. Also, and this wasn't connected to the power outage because it occured before and after, there is a problem with a septic smell that wafts over the rooms. The island relies on septic systems, I get it, but get a handle on the septic smell because it is truly awful. I loved the island and we treated the whole thing like an adventure, but to be honest for the money they charge, they need to do a bit better.

zahadranon 12/08/2017 21:50Overall, a very nice inn, great view location. We stayed in a spa suite. Pizza cafe was very good. Didn't eat in the the dining room, but it had a beautiful view. The spa was nice.The only complaint was a few issues with our room, but we had a very nice stay.

Anneherrickon 03/08/2017 02:39My husband and I love visiting the Canadain Islands but had never been to Galliano until July of this year as part of a Birthday celebration. We had an absolutely magical time there and The Galliano Inn was a big part of making it a special time. It's a beautiful location, our room looked out on the water and had a view of the ferry's coming and going. It was very peaceful, comfortable, well appointed, the staff was very friendly and accommodating. We had wonderful meals both for lunch in the pizza garden and in the main dining room for dinner and breakfast. I highly recommend The Galliano Inn!

John Bon 27/07/2017 23:55Spent three nights here on bike tour of Gulf Islands. Hostess made it easy for an early check-in after our morning ferry. Great beach just outside balcony. Easy walking to bookstore, market, restaurants and Island path.

While email correspondence can be slow the wedding day itself was helped by attentive and caring staff . Great views. Intimate and memorable.
