loribateson 20/06/2017 22:49I thought i was visiting the Mayan Ruins the first time to the office, so that was the low, it was a big vertical climb, however the day manager kept our luggage in her office and came in early today to let us get our stuff for the flight out, the location is an easy walk to some downtown pub crawling. So when I say the customer is #1, I left my CPAP in the cab, called their office and while we flew to the states, they found it and will ship tomorrow. Thanks for the awesome customer service, excellent AC and incredible views!
Great views and home-cooked breakfasts!
Heather Ron 05/06/2017 15:29Reading all the reviews about the stairs up to the Galleon had us concerned, but it really wasn't that bad. Plus, if you want to go up to Blackbeard's Castle, it's basically next door. We really loved the views, the beautiful bougainvillea and other tropical plants that make the place so lovely, and the home cooked breakfasts to start the day. It's also just a block from the main shopping street and lots of good restaurants. Gail is a wonderful hostess.
Great value
Will Gon 24/05/2017 03:01The Galleon was perfect for our budget conscious group. Waking up and drinking a cup of coffee and enjoying the complimentary breakfast each day was the perfect start to the day before heading out. Location is tucked in to the side of the hill and you fill like you are staying with the locals rather than on an isolated resort.The hotel was not very large which was nice because there were not many guests around. The Galleon felt very safe and the rooms were in good order. For the price and what you get, this is a great value.
The only small downsides i can think of were the amount of steps to get up top, the shared bathroom (on the cheapest rooms only), and no free wifi.

Gail and Harry were very helpful in guiding us to cheaper options around the island. They were extremely friendly and helpful with any questions we as a group had about where to go. The view was amazing also. This B&B sits right in the middle of everything. Made us feel like we were locals instead of tourists which made us feel great. Would recommend staying here to anyone! Great experience and would stay again!
Good Value for the Money
Elizabeth Con 09/05/2017 04:05We enjoyed our stay at The Galleon House and loved experiencing the culture of St Thomas by staying in the heart of Charlotte Amalie. Gail was very helpful and hospitable. We didn't have any cell phone service so we had to ask her and the other staff questions from time to time. Each time we asked, we were given helpful answers. Charlotte Amalie and the US Virgin Islands are a place everyone should experience in their lifetime. Lodging can be very expensive here and Gail made this experience possible by being price friendly. All in all a great experience.
