What People are saying

very poor price performance relation

60astridlon 17/08/2017 21:12

We are absolutely dissatisfied with the food und Buffet area and the staff members there were definitely not qualified for Service. Food was inapproprietly offered and was of bad quality. Beds were of poor condition (old and thin matrasses). The pool is small and surrounded by the Hotel building. Therefore this area was loud and definitely not a comfortable leisure area.

Very good hotel, good food, very good staff

Booked this hotel for a 5 day break - checked reviews before we booked and again before we visited - was slightly apprehensive after we had booked and I read the reviews as they weren't great. Was pleasantly surprised when we arrived

Hotel is in quite a residential area, a short less than 5 min walk to the beach. There are other hotels in the more touristy area of the beach although they don't offer the all inclusive option.

Hotel was very clean, staff very friendly and helpful. I speak Spanish so spoke to all staff in Spanish so cant comment on their lever of English. We booked a Junior Suite which was excellent - great size, view of beach, clean. Only disappointing thing was the mini bar which we believed would be complementary on the all inclusive package - in fact the only thing that was included in the mini bar was a bottle of water each day.

The pool is nice although because of the layout of the building the sun doesnt come onto the pool until around 11am and goes again around 4pm. I did like that there wasn't a mad dash at 6am for the sun beds around the pool. Pool didn't open till 10.30am and we got sunbeams every day. Also people tended not to leave all their belongings on their beds when they went for lunch which meant that if we spent the morning at the beach then the afternoon at the pool we were also able to get sun beds (this could be because the majority of the clientele are Spanish so usually taking a siesta after lunch....)

There were lots of activities taking place for kids and adults during the day. Evening entertainment wasn't great - took place inside and very few people went. Didn't get to check out the Versus Beach Club although was a little disappointed that it wasn't actually on the beach but just a part of the hotel.

Food - quality was excellent but was very Spanish - also found that each day was a variation on a theme - paella every day except one, although different types. All food was fresh and regularly refreshed - just got a bit monotonous and we were only there for 5 days. As we were all inc we could also have a meal in their other a la carte restaurants - we chose Miami Ribs - food was average, service slow - took 2.5 hours !

Would recommend this hotel although it is very Spanish (which is what I was looking for) so if you are expecting English food and English staff go to Benidorm !!

Excellent hotel

My wife and I stayed here recently and were so impressed with the hotel and
staff. the food was excellent and the restaurant staff were obviously loving their jobs as they were such a happy team and very friendly with guests. Our room was pretty large with a nice bathroom and double balcony which was a sun trap in the mornings. The beach was just down the road and a bus stop for a ride into Gandia town was just outside the hotel.
This is a hotel I would love to return to some day and I can recommend it to anybody, it certainly lived up to it;s four stars

Terrible

Hotel is clean, thats the only positive thing. non english speaking staff. fridge was empty, Spa was useless after paying 10euro pp. No transfer facility to train station which other hotels(like RH Bayren) in this category provided. When asked for a taxi on reception, they called a random taxi, which cost me twice the actual price. Mostly booked by locals. Gym timings are so odd, that nobody can use it.

Food!!!!

I recently returned from staying at the Gandia Palace Hotel, the staff were okay, the rooms were nice enough, but the food was terrible!!!. It was all cold, I complained the food was cold and was pointed to a microwave in the restaurant. I don't think it is too much to expect for the food to be hot??, the lifts were bad also, everytime it was a very long wait, I think 10 mins was my shortest waiting time.
