Not A great Experience
PatientAussieon 22/07/2014 00:46Stayed at the Qingdao Garden VIP Hotel on July 17th 2014. Rated highly on C-TRIP but in my opinion this rating is unwarranted. Shown to the wrong room twice - as a consequence the original or re-cut keys did not work. A/C in the first room did not work despite being assured that it will "wait one moment" for two hours. It was only when I managed to make it clear that I was leaving, that I was offered another room. Perhaps the most frustrating aspect however is that English is not spoken in a "4.5 Star" Hotel. The inability to communicate protracts the most basic of activities. Advising the A/C was not operating took 15 minutes, requesting a train timetable took 20 minutes, then it took them another 20 minutes to articulate that the business centre couldn't make train reservations for foreigners. This led to missing the only train I could have caught to make an appointment in another city. This is not a hotel business people looking for a seamless overnight should consider.
