Threatened with a stun gun by woman at the front desk
on 23/05/2017 17:13Was locked out of the office when I went back after 11 am checkout to retrieve an item left in my room. This was only ten minutes after I had checked out. The woman at the front desk threatened me by pulling out a stun gun when I asked to speak with the manager, who wasn't on site and had no phone. She cursed at me and said she was calling the police when I would not leave the lobby. I stepped outside to wait for the police to arrive and that is when she locked up the hotel.
Adequate for a night or two
Lex56on 29/04/2017 23:16We stayed one night while in the area, based primarily upon the outward appearance. It was inexpensive and the room was fine. There were a few small items in need of repair in the room (knobs on lamp switches, a wall outlet that didn't work) but the important things like the bathroom, TV and A/C worked well.
This Garden Inn & Suites is a privately (probably family) owned establishment and not in any way related to the properties of the same name managed by Hilton.
The breakfast was on the thin side, but we didn't expect much from a $70 room, so we were not disappointed. We did not experience any of the problems some reviewers cited.
Don't Stop
WillisMiddleGaon 11/04/2017 14:59The one good thing was nice helpful lady that checked us in. Otherwise, not so good. our bathroom was filthy, walls, etc and overpriced for the room. Old and dated. I left my phone charger there and the lady on phone was rude. Said it was not turned in...then someone stole it...! said she would not return to me unless i sent a prepaid box! if she found the charger?????
Clean, friendly and reasonably priced!
RobinMcNewon 11/03/2017 15:24Stayed in a King suite at this hotel from Wednesday March 8th to Saturday March 11th. Compared to other hotels in the area they were priced great. We were able to get a king suite room for less than what we would've paid for a regular hotel room anywhere else in the area. It was a combined business and pleasure trip with having to do some work in nearby Phenix City, Alabama for a couple of hours and spending the rest of the time riding our Vespas all over Pine Mountain, Warm Springs and into Columbus Georgia.
We did not check the ratings of this hotel before we booked it and if we had done so we probably would not have stayed there but it was too late to change by the time we saw the poor reviews. We were a bit apprehensive upon our arrival but Naty was helpful and polite and very accommodating to our request for additional towels and washcloths. Our room was spotless and everything smelled freshly washed. We checked for bugs and other things that have been reported in other reviews and found no sign of any of those things. Housekeeping was on the spot daily and ready with everything we needed and very friendly. The heat and air-conditioning worked wonderfully, the refrigerator, bath. toilet and sink area were very clean. No signs of plumbing issues. The only thing that stopped us from writing this hotel a five star was that our suite was located in a different building than the main office and the Internet reception was a bit spotty. Our wake up call was executed on time as requested and we had no issues with using the telephone in the room. All of the electrical outlets seem to work fine & the hairdryer in the room was in good working order as well. Our bed was quite comfortable as were the pillows and again all of the sheets and bedding smelled like they just came out of the dryer.
We would definitely stay here agin!
Over night
