What People are saying

Comfortable, friendly, well located

mjolkon 07/06/2017 18:36

If you have ever been to Santa Fe, you probably wanted to stay nearby the Old town plaza, but would not wanted to leave your first born as payment for a room. Nor you probably wanted to deal with the noise and crowds while trying to get to the hotel.
This locale is a couple of blocks from the plaza. It is what most might call a motel, but it is definitely better than most. Parking is plenty (and initially we though the place was full), and it turns out that SF visitor can park in there for the day. A good way to get some revenue! That also means you might not get a good spot if you are staying, but later in the day, all those visitor leave and you can get your spot.
Rooms were ample and comfortable, we got a 1st floor and next to the pool (for which the front desk apologized as I guess it gets noisy, but during our stay the pool was still close, so didn't matter). I was not expecting such a nice place! The only thing you need to account for is that most of the restaurants nearby close early, by about 9pm; I guess mostly because the tourists are gone by then. Even the hotel restaurant was closed by 7:30pm. No issues at all, the front desk was super nice and made the check in a breeze, within a few minutes we were set. I fully recommend this place for a great visit, rooms are well priced and ample. Notice that you get charged parking, even if you stay in a room there: that's odd, but it was only $8 so not much of a deal unless you are going to be there for several days.

Basic Motel, walk to the Plaza

This motel isn't the Ritz but it's clean, affordable, friendly staff, and within walking distance to the Old Town Plaza with lots of choices for food. There is even a restaurant next to the lobby. Hey, it's on Route 66 too! Be sure to check out the old churches.
I have stayed here several times and will return.

Great location - disappointing amenities

Mary Lu Aon 26/05/2017 23:43

The facility is located within walking distance of "everything" in Sant Fe. The location is outstanding. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and comfortable. The facility is old and needs a nice face lift. The entrance to rooms is from the outside with each room having its own outside door. However we were told the place is in receivership or bankruptcy or some such thing. There are many things that are not as indicated on the website. The pool is dry - does not look like there are any plans to fill and open. We generally book rooms if they have fitness equipment. This was one of the main reasons we booked this hotel. The "gym" at this place is a joke. There is a bike that does not adjust, treadmill that is out of order, an elliptical that does not adjust and "two" twenty pound hand weights - nothing else. The website is very misleading. We had to go to a gym and pay a daily fee to get a good workout. Having said that, the price was good and the location was excellent. However I would not recommend it due to the lack of update/maintenence

Great base to explore from

If you've finally got it together enough to take a trip to Santa Fe and you're now freaking out at the prices of accommodation .. I would highly recommend you think about staying here. If you're like me, then you wanted to stay in a place with the traditional Santa Fe architecture .. but when you realise it will cost even more than the family flights, it can be daunting.
Just forfeit that dream! Save your pennies to spend elsewhere Santa Fe. (You're going to need them.. SF's not the cheapest place to play) It's at the top end of this price bracket BUT you can't fault the location. It plants you right in Old Town. A lot of the bit cheaper options may have more ambiance or less "motel" looking, but they're out on the main drags, typical of many American towns. Although the others out there seem better value, this one keeps you in the centre and allows you to walk everywhere. It's reasonably quiet, it's super easy to get to, your car is parked at your doorstep, has heaps of restaurants close by if you're tired after sightseeing all day.

A few days wandering Santa Fe and driving local scenic drives and you will definitely get enough for your love affair with adobe architecture.

Basic motel/walking distance toPlaza

Robert Don 29/04/2017 05:17

To start out, I have stayed here several times before when I travel alone,
So I know what I signed up for.
It is a basic motel room, easy checking/out, walking distance to the Plaza, clean, adequate wifi, quiet for the most part, ample parking for $8,good shower, large vanity area,in room coffee service at a great price.
On the flip side, the bed linens and pillows (1 piece foam) could use an upgrade as well as the towels. The pool was closed . The resturant does not serve breakfast.
The general decor is somewhere between Route 66 and neglected ambiance.
