Cute Little Hotel!
Kashvi Ton 29/05/2017 13:00Gasthaus Steinbock is the perfect hotel if you want to spend some time in solitude, cherishing the beauty of Switzerland. The view from the room is amazing, with a small stream flowing just outside. The rooms are a bit old-fashioned, but definitely add to the charm. Renata, the person managing the hotel, was extremely welcoming and helpful. The only negative would be the distance from Interlaken, especially if you are travelling by train. While the train only takes around 4 mins to Interlaken OST, EURail pass is not valid.
Cute and cozy
Daven Con 04/03/2017 15:06We have stayed here 2 times and enjoyed this guesthouse both times. It is clean and cozy. The owner is gracious and very welcoming. The view from the rooms are all great. There is a chapel and a fast miving creek with a covered brigge right out the front door. We walked a lot while we were there and enjoyed the scenery. Breakfast was perfect every morning.
Relaxed stay

Is. The owner is so friendly and welcoming. The rooms may be slightly dated for some people but I like the traditional style and look. Breakfast for a guesthouse is great with everything you need. 5 mins walk from the station makes this an ideal spot to explore the local area from. You are next to a church with ringing bells, again no issue to me I certainly didn't notice them. The sound of running water from the river opposite drowns out the little road noise there is. Highly recommend a stay here.
Clean and Comfortable but Noisy
Glenn Con 10/10/2016 09:20The rooms are quite small but are clean and comfortable. If you are a light sleeper be mindful of the church next door as the bells ring every 15 minutes day and night which takes a bit of getting used to. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.
Ancient building by river in charming old part of Wilderswil
Lolwoodon 28/07/2016 19:27Historic building next to the old church and river. Serene spot away from the bustle of Interlaken. Thoroughly modern inside. Manager very sweet and helpful. Church bells next door added to local flavour and didn't keep us awake.
Hooks on doors or walls for jackets would be very useful. Can be chilly in evenings. No informal lounge to sit and chat/email in evenings (could open-up breakfast area?).
