Family owned and offers great value in lodging and dining
oregon11on 02/04/2017 17:21We stayed 2 nights here and it didn't take more than a day for us to start taking about how we have to come back here. Family owned for 6 generations, very hospitable and friendly. Very comfortable room, located in a small town (Tennenbronn) in the heart of the southern side of the Black Forest. Their kitchen offers organic locally only sourced ingredients and given the price, this place is an excellent value for both lodging and dining. Mentioned in both Michelin and Slow Food Deutschland guides. Free wifi and breakfast included in stay. I have yet to find a location that offers this level of quality and overall service for the price. Highly recommend.
Lovely little Black Forest hotel
vlambieon 11/09/2016 16:19This is a great little, friendly, family-run hotel in the middle of the Black Forest. The rooms are a good size and everything was clean. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and has good recommendations for exploring the Black Forest. They have a great restaurant with traditional meals which is very popular with locals. We had a lovely, relaxed visit at Gasthof Adler and would happily return again.
Great location for exploring the Black Forest

Our two favourite things about the hotel were 1) The warm welcome and outstanding hospitality shown by all of the family, and 2) By far the MOST amazing German food we have ever eaten. The room itself was clean and spacious, but we did feel a little self conscious as it was really easy to hear everything being said and done in the next room, so we felt like all of our movements and conversations could be heard too! This little negative though was hugely outweighed by the lovely welcome by a lovely family.

Good base location for Black Forest visit
Janos Hon 19/12/2014 09:00This hotel is a good base to visit the Black Forest area. It is a family run hotel that has basic comfort but is very cozy and welcoming. The balcony rooms are very spacious and have a separate living room. We booked two of these rooms for our family of four but when we arrived we took the suggestion to have a connecting room as the second room instead. This worked well but the second room was very small and I would not recommend to book only one of these.
