What People are saying

Unfriendly service

Martine Son 05/03/2017 08:23

Went here for dinner on our first night in Scheffau.
We asked whether our daughter could have her meal with rice instead of fries - yes it was possible but it cost 1,50 EUR extra. What? This is not good service - other restaurants in the area do not charge extra to substitute.

At the end of the meal we asked for the bill and when we wanted to pay by credit card the waiter said - too late, you should have said in advance you want to pay by CC.
I could not believe it - needless to say we are never coming back here again!

Perfect Austrian hospitality

This gorgeously quaint, yet stylish and friendly place completely exceeded our expectations! We had booked this place because we wanted to be in the middle of what looked like a typical mountain village for our skiing holiday and because it was affordable and had a family room where our kids had bunk beds to sleep in instead of a pull-out sofa bed. The location: brilliant. Next to a baroque church I urge you to have a peek into, a Spar supermarket for snacks, a sports shop with ski rental (cheaper than at the lift and huge choice!), a bank with cash point, the bus stop for the ski bus which we never waited more than five minutes for. The church bells are quiet at night, btw, and the first sonorous ringing at 7am is just perfect to wake you for the day. The room: brand new, beautiful wooden decor and high quality bathroom fittings, separate toilet, enough wardrobe space for a football team, super comfortable bed. The restaurant: old and quaint but clean and bright, we had a table assigned to us for the week. By day two, the sweet if slightly clumsy waitress had remembered I like warm milk for breakfast and was quick with everything. Half board was fine, and the food wasn't exactly gourmet but it suited us perfectly and there was always a choice of three main courses. Vegetarians would probably wither ;-) but I could imagine they'd try hard if you spoke to them. The family who run this place are always around somewhere and friendly and ready to help. Extras: We went to the sauna a few times which is open every afternoon from 4pm. It's quite small but nicely done, also looks quite new and very clean, attractive even if stuck in the basement. For over 12s only. The key card to the room also opens the side door to the hotel to get you into the large and handy ski room with heated ski boot rack (also great for wet gloves!) and ski stand. There's ample car parking, too.
Basically: PERFECT. Nothing negative to say at all. I would recommend this to anybody. There were young couples, a family group, a few other families with kids of various ages and older couples here during our stay, Germans, Brits, Dutch, all friendly and happy.

summer evening meal

We went here on a Thursday evening for a meal. Some of the party wanted chips instead of the potatoes on the menu. The food came up which was good with a fair time and service. When we got the bill they had charged for the chips and we did not get the other potatoes. We thought this was a bit off as other places either give you them as standard or you get both.

Best value for money in Scheffau

mags315875on 01/04/2016 15:16

I am shocked by the last review. This was my 3rd visit to Weberbauer and cannot fault it. This year I injured myself skiing and the staff of the Weberbauer were extremely kind and helpful. The rooms are very clean and well maintained. My 4 children stayed in a family room that was really spacious, it had a double and 2 separate single rooms which saved a lot of arguments. The breakfast is a well stocked buffet with everything from cereal to eggs and bacon, fruit and yoghurt and pastries. The dinner menu is different every night and if the adult doesn't have anything to suit you they offer larger portions of the kids menu. Perfect location next to spar and the ski bus. Heated ski boot storage and excellent sauna/spa facilities. In my opinion the best value for money accommodation in Scheffau.

Adequate Hotel for the Price but slightly underwhelming

grmgrl2016on 09/03/2016 02:32

I have stayed at the hotel several times in the past few years. The price is slightly overpriced for the services received.
Here are some of my suggestions for improvements:
1: Rooms need some updating! Carpets, furniture and bathrooms look worn. The matresses are not very comfortable and should be replaced.
2: The room cleaning every day was not very thorough.Carpet still had lint left on it. The toilet had stains that were not cleaned of .
2: Please add some variety and new recipes to your half board. The menu was identical with the menu of the previous two years, so were the themed evenings.Repeat guests will be bored.
3: There was not a great control of extremely noisy and unruly kids at the hotel. Kids were allowed to run around in the hallways and during dinner in the dining room which was very distracting. Also kids touched buffet items without any supervision. There definitely should be a staff member around to monitor and control how food is being touched.
4: While I do love dogs, I am questioning, if rooms are properly cleaned after guests with dogs have occupied them. I found dog hairs in my room. Also, not every hotel guest wants to be confronted with dogs roaming in the hallway.
5: WIFI is sub-standard and not acceptable in 2016. It is very weak in the guest rooms and the only semi decent reception can be found in the common area of the hotel.
