What a nice Family Run Hotel
Geoff Con 26/07/2016 11:11We visited Wimmer Weissbrau in July with 40 Music Students and 5 staff. This must have been a bit overwhelming, especially with the range of diets that we had, and the range of age groups. But it was very well run, and the amount of compromises that Karl Wimmer made for us made it a very special visit.
Great place with excellent hosts!
laendersammleron 05/05/2016 12:57I stayed at Hotel Wimmer Weissbräu for one night in March 2016 and I enjoyed it very much. The owner was very welcoming - that is, why I like family-run hotels much more compared to hotel chains. I got a huge and nicely decorated room. Room and Bathroom has been clean. Bed comfy. WIFI free and worked well. Had dinner at the attached restaurant - yummy. Breakfast was included and good as well. Felt like home. I paid 42,- EUR and got excellent value for money.
And the Elephant in the room was.....
AJHEAon 09/02/2016 22:40Arrived quite late after a long journey but received a warm welcome and a very pleasant meal together with a cold beer which all went down very well. Room was situated just across the road in a separate building. Rooms are themed and I stayed in the Africa room. The Elephant in the room was the one on the large mural above the bed! Still, the room was spacious ( as you'd expect of a room containing an elephant) and quiet, the bed was comfortable enough and the bathroom clean and functional. Breakfast was fairly basic but perfectly acceptable. I don't think there are many hotels in the area but this one was certainly very welcoming and represented good value for money for an overnight stay.
Very clean and big rooms

Rooms are big and spacious, very clean with good WiFi.
Breakfast is basic but tasty.
There is also a free parking. Very nice accommodation.
Comfortable, friendly hotel in a great location
Mike-Wiesneron 14/09/2010 03:46I needed an inexpensive place to stay while visiting the area, and this hotel was perfect. My room with bath was only 38 euros booked at the hotel's website, and it was well worth it. The room was basic, but with some style, and quite comfortable. The bath was basic, but fine for the purpose.
The rooms are located over a great restaurant, right in the center of town. You are a five - ten minute walk from the train station, and only five minutes from the bridge. I felt it was more convenient to stay here, based on train schedules, than Braunau across the river (only a ten minute walk to the center).
While my main reason for coming was Braunau - which is beautiful, with a very interesting cathedral (along with the other reason for visiting), Simbach is also nice. I was able to take a long walk, on a raised road, into the lovely countryside.
The family that run the hotel are very friendly, and their great restaurant is popular with the locals. I would definitely stay here again.
