What People are saying

Amazing views

The sea view rooms had amazing Views across the menai. The hotel is right on the beach. Staff were friendly and helpful. Decent breakfast. Clean comfortable rooms. Well stocked bar. Plenty of parking. Will be going again

very friendly staff

We stayed here for a few days. We had a large comfortable bed, large shower and a wonderful view of the Menai. Room 2. The decoration is a little tired. Basic tea coffee etc in the room. Breakfast is variety of cereals, apple juice, orange juice, full cooked breakfast of sausage, bacon, black pudding, beans, tomato, mushrooms, hash brown, egg, and a choice of white or brown toast, tea or coffee. All very nicely cooked. We also had evening meals here, the tai chicken curry is very nice. The chips were lovely on the Wednesday night but a little soggy on Tuesday night, chefs night off maybe? The staff here are wonderful and make up for any little niggles. Would stay here again.

Repeat visitors

After reading negative reviews thought I should write to say we have stayed twice this year once in the main building and once in the annex.
On each occasion we have found the staff to be very pleasant and the accommodation to be more than adequate, we preferred the annex as this appears to be more up to date.
As a bonus we can bring our small dog along who is made welcome.
We ate at the gazelle for our evening meal on two occasions and found the food to be first class on both times and good value.
The breakfast also was good and set us up for the day.
The outside area looks a bit run down but we are told this is to be attended to this year so don't let this put you off, try it yourself I'm sure you will be glad that you did.

Two lovely lunches with spectacular views

We visited the Gazelle Hotel on a lovely sunny Saturday. We approached the hotel from Beaumaris and did not see the sign to turn left to go down to the hotel main car park. The sign from this direction sends you into a small car park with lots of steps to go down to the main hotel. We concluded that there must be another way down. If you are heading from Menai Bridge the sign down to the proper car park is very clear.

On reaching this car park we were struck by the wonderful views across to the Menai Bridge; wonderful mountain scenary and the Menai Straits itself. On a busy day the car park can be tight.

There is some seating outside but not much. One thing that nearly stopped us going in was the physical appearance of the hotel but we were glad we went in.

We had a lovely cheese and ham ploughman's dish for the first visit - this is worth it just for the Black Bomber Snowdonia Cheese! On the second visit we had a lovely pasta dish which was delicious again.

The staff were welcome, friendly and helpful.

We will definitely go here again but to eat and not to stay. The hotel could do with looking at it's appeal from the outside.

Needs to Improve the Food

We saw the views across the water and thought what a great place for a pub lunch. Saw The Gazelle and stopped. The views are magnificient. Unfortunately the food served was not.

Friendly staff, great location although difficult and limited parkjng at the bottom of a single track very steep road.

Our food order, the special sandwiches with sides included were not very good. A single thin slice of processed ham us not what was required. Nor the two tiny pots of coleslaw and picalli. A salad that died on tne way to the presentation board with an awful dressing. Surely the kitchen staff can do better than that. My wifes cheese version was fine. Mine very disappointing.

Stop for a beer and take in the view. Not a dining experience on this showing.
