unspoiled beaches

We stopped several times along the way to Punta Allen from Tulum, Boca Paila being about halfway, and is in the Sian Kaan Biopreserve. The beaches are deserted, with plenty of wild-life. (unfortunately also some garbage washed up from the ocean that no-one is paid to pick up. I would have liked to do so, but there is an awful lot of beach to cover).
There aren't a lot of places to park, but each spot is worth pulling over to check out. This is not a busy road, and there are lots of bumps. One great spot to pull over is the bridge. There are signs which read no swimming, and they seem well advised, as there is a crocodile who seems to live beside the bridge on the lagoon side. There are plenty of lizards running around on the road to watch out for, and a little further up where all the jeep tours park there is a wonderful spot to access the lagoon and wade around. Plenty of fish to see there, and one in particular that wouldn't stop following me around. If you enjoy the outdoors and nature this is worth exploring for you. I would avoid the jeep and van tours unless that is your only way of getting out and into a boat, which we didn't do, but looks like it would be amazing.

It is well worth the drive to get to the unspoiled beaches,blue water and white sand.No tourist.The way Mexico was many years ago

It's a beautiful little place in the Si'an Kaan biosphere. A flats angler's paradise and a great visit either by itself or on the road to Punta Allen.

The main point of Playa del Carmen

This is the heart of Playa. It is the place to relax in the shade of trees, listen to a concert, see celebrations, Mayan dancers, flying Mayas etc. Or you can simply seat on walls facing the sea and looking at stars and lights of near by Cozumel Island in the evening.

Traveled here for some sight seeing and try our hand at fishing . Beautiful location and crystal clear water. We even saw a gator sunning himself on a small beach on the lagoon side. Left the water after that .lol
