Beautiful Getaway!
alexpicadoon 06/10/2016 22:08My wife and I recently enjoyed two perfect nights at this tranquil and lovely suite beautifully tucked away in the mountains of La Spezia. The owner and his son are the friendliest people we met on our adventure throughout Europe. They went above and beyond making us feel comfortable and welcome.
We highly recommend staying here!
If you like quietness; human kindness and proximity to a lot of interesting things to visit; just go for it !!!
Andy-from-Italyon 04/08/2016 16:36Very nice and clean new appartments/studios with a swimming-pool (and free wifi with a nice bandwidth for whom cannot disconnect :-)).
Transportation :
La Spezia is at 10 minutes drive by car and you got a bus stop at less than 200 meters from the Agriturismo. The cherry on the cake is the fact that the proprietary can transport you to La Spezia (harbor/central station) at almost the same price for the bus but with the flexibility added.
Highly valuable advices from the proprietary
The proprietary has a very good knowledge of the local culture / exhibitions / restaurants which allow you to take the best things out of the region and he is always keen to help. Remark we had Tomatoes and Zucchini directly from the garden every 3/4 days and don't hesitate to test their oil (from the ulivi)
Restaurants : around the agriturismo (in between 2 minutes and 10 minutes drive)
- One meat/pasta specialist
- One fish specialist
- One pizzeria (all bio - the best pizzas I ever eat)
- Two with local specialities (Testaroli and Panigacci)
To visit/see in a circle of 100 kms around La Spezia :
The best way to visit cool is by boat and train (but you can do it by car if you want)
- Genova (very big and nice acquarium for children) - Train/car
- Carrara - Car
- Pisa - Car
- Le cinque Terre - Boat/Train
- Portovenere - Boat/Train
- Etc ...
You can spend easily 2 weeks in visiting this region.
Lovely relaxing holiday
karenjsteeleon 08/07/2016 20:27We arrived after a a short journey from Briancon and found the place with no issues even though the sat nag wasn't happy.
On arrival we were met by a warm and friendly host who could not have been more helpful. The apartment was modern and very clean with a large bathroom and well equipped kitchen.
The views from the balcony are simply stunning and such a lovely place to relax and unwind after a hard day sightseeing, along with a pool that also has great views of the valley.
Gli Ulivi is well situated for visiting all of the sites in the area, wether it be by car boat or train.
Would recommend highly for a stay and will return soon.
A beautiful place to stay!
MichelleGee8on 04/05/2016 11:26This hotel is up in the mountains and has a beautiful view of the city. It is peaceful and quiet . We stayed in a studio apartment which didn't have a balcony. Not all the rooms have balconies. Our room had a kitchen , flat screen tv etc. The wifi worked well. Our room was very clean and comfortable. There is a washing machine for guests to use as well. We got lost getting there even though Adelmo had sent us directions beforehand. Adelmo and his wife are really nice and will help you plan out your trip and give you maps. There are lots of nice places around as well as cinque Terre. The Coop supermarket in town has free two hour parking and wifi etc. The train to Cinque Terre costs $12 per day and includes the walking pass and free wifi on the train. You can also drive to the villages. Parking costs $3.50 per hour in Rio Maggiore and $2 in Manarola. We walked between Vernazza and Corniglia. It was pretty much all up hill and would suitable for fit people. We went on the weekend and it was too busy, if you can go during the week you might gt more space to yourself.
