Odd town but not bad motel

We stayed here on our first night headed to MT. Motel doesn't look great but room was very clean for a motel, water was hot and bed was super comfortable. Room was a little tight and there was a Hispanic family next door that were up late making a lot of noise. Make sure and bring ear plugs, you don't hear road noise but you can hear room next to you. We didn't try free breakfast since there really wasn't much. Had Mexican food right across the street and it was great. Parking wasn't great for a big truck. We had to park in lot across the street and was a bit worried about something happening to it, but was fine. Easy access. They said free wifi but my phone wouldn't pick it up, might have just been my phone.

Awful place!!

We wound up here at the last minute after a mistake by booking.com for our other reservation. Dorris is a very dumpy, run-down little town. I could not recommend this hotel any worse than 1; if I would, I could. For $159 I got a tiny room with two double beds. I could barely fit our suitcases on the floor. There were bugs that were dead and alive in the room. The room should have cost half the price or less! The worst was the owner/manager? who seems to live there. He was completely unhelpful. Handed us a key, and when asked about places to eat, shrugged his shoulders and sent us across the street to a closed Mexican place. Asked if there was anything else, he said there was something 3-4 miles up the road, but he was incapable of saying what it was. Do NOT stay in this place. I have never stayed at a place with such terrible value.

Owner might scam you on price, but rooms are fine?

We stayed here for one night on a road trip from San Francisco to Portland. We were hoping to make it to Klamath Falls but got too tired to keep driving. This is right on Hwy 97 and is literally the only place between Weed and K-Falls. I checked online and saw that the price range for a room at this motel was $55-70 (depending on the website I was looking at); however, when we arrived the owner told me the rooms were $199. When I protested, as I was obviously being taken advantage of, he told me he would give it to me at half price ($99). I still balked, and he then lowered it to $89. So, while I eventually got him down to only a ~$30 increase, that was a bad experience and I'm going to dispute it with my credit card company. I was alone and it was late at night and I had no other options.

All that aside...

The room was very clean and well equipped (mini fridge, microwave, iron/ironing board, TV). The location was very convenient for a pit stop on Hwy 97.

Oh, and the "continental breakfast" was the dregs of a box of cereal and some hot brown water that they referred to as coffee, so I wouldn't plan on eating here.

If I had only been charged the *posted* rate, of ~$60/night, I wouldn't complain about this... you pay for what you get, etc. But, since he decided to take advantage of me and originally tried to make me pay $200/night, I'm complaining :)

We are an elderly couple traveling the USA. We read the reviews and it seemed just what we wanted. The bed was comfy and the room clean. There was no sink in the bathroom but a stainless steel sink at the end of the bedroom with fridge and microwave.. I don't like a steel sink that you have to use as a bathroom sink, maybe because I am English it does not seem right. Please don't rely on anything to eat as when we went there were only two cinnamon swirls left and no sugar for the coffee. If you just want a clean place to stay for one night go for it. You can hear the trains that run through the night so if you are a light sleep pass on by.

Late night/early morning check-in appreciated!

I was tired and couldn't quite make it to Klamath Falls. This was a nice surprise. They graciously accommodated my 12:45 AM check-in without a reservation. The room was clean, king bed was good and shower was great although the head is a little low for my 6'1". For the price, it was a delight.
