Best choice in Herculane

This is by far the best place to stay in Herculane, either for one night or for a longer vacation. It has everything, elevator for just three floors, spa, cozy restaurant with very nice choice for food, including a wide variety of vegetarian dishes. The staff is perfect, taking care of everything you need either in the room or within the restaurant/bar. I've been there 7 years in a row and I will do that each time.

I stayed in this hotel for just a night (biz trip) and I was not satisfied at all. I have to admit that the price is not high (30 € per room), but the service was really bad. The staff was very unpolite, the cleaning a bit superficial, the heating was switched off even though it was really cold and most importantly there was no hot water! I had to take a literally frozen shower. There was no buffet breakfast, they just prepared us a plate with eggs and salami without even asking what we wanted. I think the place can be much better when the season is high... but I would not recommend it

The hotel is just ok but the herculane spa not recommended

We booked 2 nights but we stayed for 1 night only we coudnt stand the city which was like ghost city. The room was clean and nice but it was cold at night the price was low the staff were very good and when we cancelled the second night they give us the mony back.if the hotel was in another city it will be good but we were very disappointed from herculane spa

a lot of improvement needed

We stayed in the hotel for two nights in early December 2013. In winter, the whole Herculane spa is dead, looks and feels cold and unwelcoming. The price for the room in Golden Spirit was quite low, 20 euros/night, but also the quality of the services was poor. The first night, in temperatures close and below 0, we did not have proper heating, just a small and powerless radiator, they do not want to switch on heating for just one occupied room. to get warm water one had to leave the tap running for half an hour. the hotel was undergoing reparations and everyday from 8.30 onwards one could hear heavy drilling and other kind of noises. at 9-10 we were out of the room anyway, but when i made the reservation by phone, they could have warned us, or, at least ask us about the hours when we plan to be in the room, some sort of solution. The room ambient was ok, actually this was the strong point of the whole thing, clean and enough space, good mattress and sheets, a desk, small table with small armchairs provided. The personnel was friendly and helpful. All in all, for the price is was not that bad, however, a lot can be done to improve the quality of services.

Even if the presentation photos of this hotel ( on Booking.com) made us a good impression, when we checked in we had a big disappointment! The price was too high for the conditions offered: the room was like a furnace without air conditioning and the cleanliness was superficial! Mats in the room were terrible! The elevator was not working, even all the tourists were asking about it in such a hot summer day ! The restaurant was understaffed, we expected a lot for the meal.
The hotel by its position on the waterfront, and the generous spaces of the lobby, restaurant, terraces that are well designed and beautifully decorated, could create increased comfort tourists unfortunately are large gaps on accommodation and food services! For now I would not recommend this destination to other tourists, at this high price of 45 Euros for a duble room!
Unfortunately this resort was forgotten by county administration and the regional development ministry, although the town has an interesting history and traditions for its natural potential to treat diseases, with springs and baths related with spa treatments. The resort is very visited and so busy in summer!
