What People are saying

Quirky, but nice

Joe Con 22/05/2017 05:12

I stayed 5 nights at the Graduate recently. Staff was very friendly and very attentive. I had a A/C problem with my first room but was quickly remedied! Room is a old standard hotel room that has been well updated. I wish there was a recliner or at least an ottoman for the only chair in the room. (That's not a complaint). Bathroom was clean and had plenty of towels. Even though I was there at a time several college tennis teams were staying, it was overall very quiet. I am in Athens often and would definitely stay at the Graduate again.

Time stands still

We stayed at this hotel for the first time during our son's law school graduation weekend.

The interior design of the rooms was very interesting and a throwback to earlier decades. We especially loved the credenza design and the old fashioned telephone and radio on the desk.

The hotel front desk staff was excellent. One of our three initial rooms had a musty smell and a very loud air conditioner. They switched our room with no problem and even accompanied us to the new room to make sure it was okay

The beds were very comfortable but the room needed to be kept at a chilly temperature in order to avoid a musty smell.

It should also be noted that second floor rooms are walk up only with no elevator service

A few negatives should be mentioned however. The housekeeping service was awful for all three of our rooms. Complimentary bath soap, shampoo and conditioner dispensers were extremely low and was never refilled during our visit. The trash in both the room and bathroom trash cans were never emptied.

The rooms have a very small dorm sized refrigerator and no safe is provided. There also is no clock in the room

We did have breakfast in the cute lobby area. Counter service was exceptionally slow with only one employee on duty for a busy weekend. The menu is pretty limited here also

While there is numerous parking usually available, many times we found it hard to find a space because of other events being held at this hotel.

For the price, I would probably not stay here again. While the decor was cute and different, I think I prefer a large chain hotel with more amenities and better maid service

Boutique hotel with a sense of style and a great price!

I came to Athens for work and thought the photos of the Graduate were too cute to pass up. I'm happy to say they lived up to expectation. This is a very chic, boutique hotel with a very retro cool vibe that you don't come across too often outside of major cities. If you want style and a quirky sense of humor, this is your place. The property is clearly a refurbished motel that has been done up right and on the off-season (i.e. not football time or graduation) you can get a great room for about $120/night. The only complaint I saw online was a "musty smell" in the room and I'm sad to say I did experience the same thing in my room, but it wasn't a deal breaker. There is a coffee bar on property that serves a limited menu; it was fine for one day, but I wouldn't count on it for your dining purposes. The property is less than a mile from the football stadium and convenient to downtown Athens and all it's offerings. I would definitely return!

Very cool place to stay!

Stayed at the Graduate for my nieces graduation from UGA. Great location, close to everything and the room was awesome! So glad we upgraded to the suite. 915sq ft made it feel like home. We could have entertained the whole family in our room!

Great website for a roadside hotel experience

Rooms are dated and aged. Poor value for the cost. Very disappointing experience. People working at the hotel were very nice. Our room was o the road, and the loud fan allowed us to drown out the traffic noise outside.
