Great views
Bzearson 20/08/2017 22:31We enjoyed sitting on the patio overlooking to sunset on the canyon, the main dining room has large picture windows that overlook the canyon and the food is fantastic! They have a full service bar, as well as a small deli and and a buffet restaurant.
Steps From the Rim
BellBottomBlueson 20/08/2017 20:46Wake up at the Grand Canyon! This rustic cabin provides basic comfort and clean facilities. Best of all, is the location. I woke early and grabbed my flashlight, hit the trail and sat on a rock watching the sunrise over the grand canyon. Each morning, this was my routine. Then my travel companions (husband and grandson) awoke and we had breakfast and more exploring of this incredible place. The trails are as challenging as you like. Introducing a child to this wonder of nature is a memory that I will always cherish. So glad we stayed in the lodge instead of off-site.
Rustic, efficient, effective and MEMORABLE!
Scott21AZon 20/08/2017 02:15A brief 3-day, 2-night stay may be the most memorable event of my life. The room, in the North Hotel, had everything I needed in a most welcome environment. My first trip to the North Rim. I do NOT camp and do NOT want to . This would be as close as I can imagine, however, because it is neither glamorous nor pretentious. But, it had EVERYTHING I needed to rest well between shoots while attending a photo workshop. I loved the balcony surrounding the building and the setting in the midst of the pine trees. Just beautiful.
Solitude
JeffreyHanleyon 20/08/2017 00:50Well at least the most solitude you'll get at a publicly accessible area of the Grand Canyon. Far less people than the South Rim but not as good as Phantom Ranch, the Western Style Cabins at the Grand Canyon Lodge are rustic but roomy, and that gas fireplace comes in hand during the cooler nights.
We stayed in the motel and a Frontier Cabin
hagemannjon 18/08/2017 22:26We couldn't get the same room for all 3 nights but had 2 nights in a row in a "motel' room and 1 night in the cabin. We had probably the farthest from the lodge motel room. It was great for where you are. Clean, quiet.. Ceiling fan and windows keep you cool. Bathroom is small but functional. I prefer the motel room because it has a queen sized bed for my husband and I to share, the double in the cabin is much to small and tight to share, the one side has barely any room to the wall so I slept in the twin. Which is fine. Just know it is a small space! Functional clean and convenient to the rim but not elegant! You probably won't be in your room/cabin long so it is fine.
