515sabinalon 30/08/2017 17:09I'm disappointed cause there's NOT FREE WI-FI and they didn't clean the room after the first night. The room was very big and elegant style.The location is very good and you can arrive very easily with public transport.
Clean big rooms but ...
tomajzlikon 30/08/2017 09:01The room including the bathroom was clean and big. We also appreciated the safe. However, there were some things that need improvements, esp. with beds:
- the matraces on double bed were of different heights???
- the beds on wheels were sliding. It felt like in a cheap hostel
- chargeable wifi?! Come on, we are in 21 cent.
- AC did not work well or at all. Fortunatelly it was not very hot. But you cannot sleep with a window open as the street is really busy.
- no fridge
The hotel is far from the center but the local transport is just brilliant. The stops are round the corner and you easily get to the city centre. We used M6,7 plus 13 to St Petersburg Str where you have to change.
Overall, just for a few days the hotel is OK but next week I will try to find some other place to stay in.

Eva Ron 22/08/2017 20:20No sign pointing out City Hotel East, difficult to find, named as Grand City Hotel/Holiday Inn! Only knew what to look out for from other guests details online! Stayed for 5 nights- didn't sleep any!! Asked to get moved after initially been told to ring down to reception after the first bad night if this happens again- only to find the phone in the room was dead!!! When complaining the next day- phone could not be repaired as nobody available to fix it! Was offered to move into another room- in the hope things would improve, but far from it! Room we moved into had an adjacent room- presumably for families- only separated by a door. Noise Levels where unbelievable could hear every word that was spoken in the room! Guest played noisy video games on their lap top for half the night!!! Phone in the new room worked, but air condition did not!!!! Hot and stuffy room with unacceptable noise levels even after moving rooms already once. Would never stay in this hotel again!!!! Spoilt our trip to Berlin as we were completely exhausted and sleep deprived by the end of our stay!

Guy Lon 22/08/2017 02:00during our booking we booked a suite with 2 bedrooms. when arriving we were shocked that some lights were not working and one glass table was broken.
when i mentioned this at the reception they moved us to another suite.
arriving in the other suite....it was not a two bedroom suite and one of us had to sleep on the bench-bed. they did not even provide sheets! and the worst thing: a non working airco. incredible.....disappointing and totally not worth 4 stars.
so i just read all these complaints of earlier customers and the standard reply of the hotel management:
"thank you for taking effort to complain-we are so sorry-contact the receptiondesk with your problems- come back to check out our improvements".
well guess what? i am not the first one complaining about the defect airco and about the "fawlty-towers-service". and still no improvement after so many complaning customers?
you have been warned, dear fellow travellers!
No water to bath at room 532
thanh_hong969on 21/08/2017 11:02All was ok , but the water in the bathroom was bad . So we cant take shower very bad . But the service and all was ok i enjoyed my stay very well . I like it . But the vending machines are too small and not enough drinks and foods . And the price is a little bit too high ;3
