Nice hotel in an average district

Booked this property as a transit option for 1 night on my way from Almaty to Karakol.
The area definitely wasn't the nicest in the world. The hotel building didn't look attractive at all from the outside. However, once you get inside the impression is completely different. Lobby was very modern and pretty stylish. Check-in was very fast. I didn't have to fill in any boring forms and receptionist only took a copy of my passport. I have also found out that my room was unavailable but I've got a free upgrade to a higher category one straight away. The room was really spacious, clean and comfy with a king size bed. The door locks were these old fashioned ones requiring metal keys instead of cards. Bathroom could be a bit bigger but for 1 night it wasn't a mega deal really. Breakfast was pretty good, food selection quite modest but as long as it was included in the room price it was ok. In general, my impressions of this property are rather positive and I'll stay there again during my next trip to Bishkek.

Booked for one night prior to starting a tour.

Location is at least 10 mins to the main thoroughfare of Manaus street and the Bishkek Park shopping centre. Easy to navigate during the day but slightly hazardous at night (but street lighting isn't Bishkek's forte).

Rooms are adequate if a bit old. Roomy enough.
Breakfast average.

Decent city hotel

Decent city hotel at good prices. All hotels are a fair drive from the airport and this one is no different but when you get their easy enough to walk around town and the hotel meets all requirements. Would use again.

I am coming quite often in Bishkek and so decided to try hotels there, I already reviewed the Holiday Hotel which I liked now the Grand Hotel is another place to recommend. Let's put in perspective, it is not a luxury hotel it is clean comfortable and not expensive. The rooms are clean spacious (301) the paintings in the hotel may shock some but the garden and it's fountain is relaxing (in summer). Bathroom need little improvement all works ok but no charm and a bit tired. Amenities are ok and you have all needed if you forgot something.
Restaurant and Bar service is fine food is ok but patience is needed. There are good places to eat in Bishkek so use the restaurant in case of emergency.
Breakfast is regional standard, once again it is mid-range hotel, so no high expectation.

Great value for money

We chose the Grand Hotel for two nights because of it's location and price. The rooms and hotel grounds were clean, bed comfortable to sleep in, staff very helpful. It's a nice middle road choice, very good price for a decent hotel. We were happy with our experience and I would recommend this hotel for those who wish to stay in Bishkek.
