Talk about being mislead by the photos!!! Maybe back in the day when it was grand and the Casino was in operation it may have had the charm and opulence the photos on the sites show, but I can assure you it's nothing like that now.
The pool area on the roof was suffocating and horrendous area, dirty, and totally unfriendly area...again NOTHING like the glitzy photos that are shown. The spa/beauty salon is a joke, and the staff never appeared ...totally oblivious I was standing there even though I made my presence known.
The room was dirty, old and extra extra small!!! I changed to the new section (the old casino area) which although was slightly better it was even smaller, and no safe, plus...and this is the clanger...to adjust the airconditioning you jave to call rhe front desk everytime...so in the middle of the night waking up because its cold, you have to ring the front desk in your sleepy state and try to explain in english what you want...and if its too hot you have to ring back again...seriously, how rediculous.
I also left my cardigan which the manager described to me when he foumd it in the room and after 5 emails and numerous calls they now are saying it wasnt there..even though he described it to a tee!!
He also was extreamly rude when i checked in ... very unprofessional! DO NOT GO!!!

Very very pleasant staff. They make you feel good. Great pool and beach. Big double room clean and i must say: with monster breakfast. Room view also nice. Big parking in city with no parking. I recommend fondly.

The pools at this hotel are the big drawcard, I imagine. I did not use the outdoor one but it looked pretty huge and designed to cater for many people who enjoy this experience. We had a room that was standard and everything was in good order. However, we dropped an item on the floor and it rolled under the bed. We had to roll the bed away to retrieve it. Also under the bed was an eaten piece of corn on a cob that was rather mouldy! I guess it could have been worse.
The staff were efficient and friendly as they are in all of Croatia. We had a huge choice of food for breakfasts. The dinner buffet also has big array of choice. The front office staff are very helpful.

We will come next time if will be lower price...

We was at this hotel for few days. Same hotel but have two parts, one have three stars second have four stars. Same recepcion same pools, same food and I think same price.. 

Tree stars hotel have new but smaller rooms.

Outside pool is best thing they have! Amazing view, clean wather, perfect staff but too small for al guests! They open pool at 9am and work till 7pm. If you want get position on pool you must wake up and wait on pool dors from 8am.

Food was not on rang like have hotels with four stars in Croatia. I expect higher class for this money (190e/per night for two person) in Croatia is serios  money.

Parking is no free, you must pay 10 euro per day if is availible hotel parking. In my situation was not free than I must pay parking to town 0.7 euro per hour  from 7am till 9pm every day.

Price for drinks are big for Croatian prices.
Wather 1l (3.5€) Aperol Spritz 6€, beer 3.5€ etc..

Rooms are clean and have fridge..

I am not sure if I want go next time in Opatija, in hotel with four stars that I will take this hotel for this money. For lower price I am sure that will I take.

Owner of hotel is new, I think he making a good story for this hotel and every next year they will be better and better...

I will give them 4+

Stayed here for 2 nights based on the pictures, probably in it's hey day was a nice hotel but could do with modernising. Lots of staff on check in desk one young slim girl always looked totally miserable and never smiled! Not the best first impression. Our room was clean but old fashioned, I particularly liked the old music played in the corridors. Indoor pool nice and quiet, towels were available and robes/slippers were in our room. On the first day we went across the road to the outdoor pool, nowhere near enough loungers and no towels, not even an option to hire a towel? Had to sit on plastic chairs for ages waiting on someone vacating a lounger. When we went back to our room the keycard wouldn't unlock the door, back and forth to reception with staff trying to open the door with the 'master key' which didn't work, after 20 mins cleaner arrived, she had locked it with a key which overrides the keycard. Breakfast was busy but plenty of clean tables to sit at, all the usual including a pancake/egg/omelette station and Serrano ham on the bone which you carved yourself and was rather lovely. There is a singer in the outside bar at night, not great but we couldn't hear him in our room. If I was in the area again I would stay elsewhere.
