Rajan Bon 26/08/2017 11:59Choose this hotel only if you have a locational constraint (want to be close to Fort, Ballard Estate etc.) and you don't get any other better hotel in that vicinity.
The only positive - large and clean rooms.
Negatives - it could start from the fact that all electrical switches will be found only at the entrance. So you want to switch off the fan, you need to get up, walk to the door and switch off. No switches near the bed.
Noisy A/C, which can nicely disturb your sleep.
High price which can leave a nice big hole in your pocket.
Poor spread in breakfast. One Upma for the veggies. That's it. And, that too will be served without Chutney. When I asked for the same, the staff were pretty rude in their response - can't you find others eating Upma without the chutney? My god. Pay through your nose and then get this response. Not in Year 2017 I suppose.
When I tried complaining this with the front desk no one bothered to respond. Pathetic service standards.
Food rates are abnormally high for a hotel of this standard and food quality.
All in all, a forgettable stay after paying such high rates.
Lots of potential!Needs more effort!
Dhanya Bon 12/08/2017 10:05We stayed at Grand hotel in Ballard estate for 2 nights on a trip to Mumbai..I personally feel it's overpriced and needs a lot of uplifting. The location is very calm and the hotel rooms are spacious. 1st day bfast buffet was the worst I have experienced. After complaining the staff did manage a better effort the second day. They were serving one half a litre water botte as complimentary per day for three adults. They insist on paying the whole amount as soon as u check in so that we were forced to stay on after investing 17 k for two nights.
I hope the management looks into all these matters.
Just ok!
Fahri Bon 10/08/2017 18:17Good location, Old hotel, poor breakfast but high prices. Almost 100$ per night for a double room. Bad price-performance relation. The staff was ok, but they could be better. And since the hotel is old, I saw also some rates :(
I miss the Grand Hotel
patriciov83on 16/07/2017 08:20I miss the Grand Hotel with all its generous personal and it's delicious Indian breakfast. Loved the neigbourhood where it was at Ballard State, with beautiful Victorian style buildings which it came to be a very quiet spot (specially for Mumbai standards). Hope to be back someday soon!
Biggest and most sophisticated room ever and that too in Mumbai
raj_mgopalon 06/04/2017 09:26Extremely calm and one of the most posh locations in Mumbai, very near to Gateway of India, very warm front desk, excellent service, limited but sufficient breakfast, very spacious rooms in fact largest i ever got anywhere (family room)
tips: try the hindu hotel nearby (for vegetarians)
contact hotel directly for best prices
take some movies in pen drive as they have home theater
try the mono rail from vadala
This hotel has excellent free wifi and front desk response is awesome
rates are in the mid range for an expensive city like mumbai
