What People are saying

Excellent

Lynn Son 08/08/2017 20:56

Only been here for a couple of days but what are these other reviewers in about. The hotel is spotless. Witnessed cleaners last night cleaning all the sun beds! Never seen this anywhere else. Yes you have to get up to "claim" your beds and parasol but this is the same everywhere. The staff are all lovely and the food is exceptionally good. Rib eye steak for lunch today! Enjoying a fab cocktail as I write this. Orebic is gorgeous and the weather is hot. We are having a fab time so far and I don't see it will change. Looking forward to the rest if our stay.

A bit disappointing but well meaning hotel

We were hoping for a 4 star hotel after a long but beautiful transfer from Dubrovnik Airport. We booked a superior room which was quite small, shower only and no bath. Although it had a sea view there was no balcony, no coffee/ tea making facilities but did have a fridge and mini bar if required.
The management responses to our enquiries, requests and concerns was exemplary. I have rarely stayed in an hotel with such excellent customer service.
We booked bed and breakfast which seemed a very good choice as we eat in the hotel the first evening and were not impressed at all.The breakfast however, was fine with various choices.
Not to be too critical but trying to get a sunbed round the pool area was a nightmare. I stood for one hour on the first morning beside a sun shade waiting for the sun beds to be unchained. The beach( pebble) was open to the public and therefore, overcrowded and in my opinion chaotic. We found an hotel beach close by which was quiet, calm and lovely.
The hotel is in a very good location with supermarkets and money exchange within walking distance. Orebic is close by, walking on the main road or the promenade. Take a trip to Korcula by boat, a fantastic town with history, lovely restaurants and shops.
At Aminess Grand there was some evening entertainment of varying quality and a children's club but all so subtle as to to be fairly unremarkable.
The staff make this hotel with recognition to the managers, Anna and Yasmina. However, beach staff take note re customer care!
When staying at this hotel take a walk in the area, seek alternative beaches( in high season, better apparently otherwise) and have an evening meal on the terrace in the beautiful Indijan hotel restaurant.
We really appreciated the care and consideration we were given but overall, over priced and not quite what we had hoped for.

Perfect chill-out for young family

Just returned from a wonderful week here with Jet2. It was our 4 and 5 year-old boys' first package holiday abroad, so we carefully chose a reasonably quiet, compact hotel with full board plus so mum could have a rest too. Having holidayed in Croatia several times as a child I was keen to return and see if it had changed much. We did not want a busy resort and we like to experience the local culture and sights so this was just perfect! We didn't mind the 3 hour transfer as it gave the boys chance to sleep and us chance to see the stunning views on the coastal road around Dubrovnik. The hotel is well presented and staff are all friendly and helpful. The pool and gardens are pretty and the beach is stunning - the sea is even bluer than in the photos! We had a family room without a balcony - there aren't many balconies in this hotel. The room was spacious enough for us and spotlessly clean. Bathroom was pretty new. Airconditioning was useful.
The meals were fantastic - please ignore all negative remarks about the food! I was very, very impressed - having stayed all inclusive in the past in several places this was by far the best I have experienced. Fresh vegetables and fruit in abundance, a range of meats and meat dishes and local seafood plus tasty vegetarian options. The salads were to die for. My little boys had a great time choosing their food and trying new things. The daily pasta dishes were popular with my 5 year old and he ate far better than he eats at home! Breakfasts were delicious with fresh bread and pancakes plus full english available. Drinkwise the wine isn't the best - but it's on tap and the glasses are huge! Bavaria is the draught beer in the restaurant and I learnt to pour a delicious pint. My children loved the self service drinks and ice cream. The only downside was no free coffee after breakfast time.
Locally the beach is pebbly so glad I brought jelly shoes for us all. You can swim in the warm sea though my boys were more than happy with the pool! We made sure we got a sunlounger after breakfast so we could overlook the pool to watch them safely. Husband had fun snorkelling off the hotel beach. The locals did occasionally attempt to get to the pool but the staff were regularly on patrol to get them out!
The walk into pretty Orebic is about 10 mins along the seafront. My littlest needed carrying in the heat! There are your usual ice cream shops, bars etc there. There was plenty to do! We had a day trip to beautiful Korcula. We found SUP (stand up paddle board) hire on Orebic beach and it was really cheap so we had a couple of days with a SUP. We hired a motorboat from the hotel to explore the many islands around Korcula. there were jet skis, kayaks etc.
The entertainment was OK - it wasn't a huge hotel so we weren't expecting too much, and the kids were tired by evening time anyway. The girls who did the aqua aerobics in the pool were very good and we enjoyed joining in with that. There is a nice beachside bar next door among the trees that is very chilled.
We were lucky to have two family birthdays while staying here and I was given a lovely bottle of wine for mine. My son was presented with a T shirt and a cake at tea time with candles, and the waiters sang happy birthday! Such a lovely personal touch which made our stay even more special. Thank you to the manager Magdalena.
In all an unforgettable family holiday that exceeded our expectations and was fantastic value for money.
I would highly recommend this hotel for young families!

Not quite there

We spent a week with a family of 5 (kids 4,4 and 6). Location is nice, overall the place is good - but they may have prioritized having more guest than making their stay enjoyable. You need to run out in the morning to "reserve" a sun chair so you would not have to sit in the dirt. Somehow the pool is flooded with people not even staying at the hotel - making it at times completely overcrowded. At breakfast you end up cueing for 10 mins for a cup of coffee. Not what you want for a relaxing vacation....

Clean, comfortable, friendly hotel.

We stayed b and b for 2 weeks from 6 to 20 July 2017 on a Jet2 holiday. In truth we don't make many demands on the hotel and staff as we tend to enjoy exploring but the hotel is spotless and there always seemed to be vacuuming in progress.
The staff, including reception, cleaners and waiting staff are friendly all wishing you "dobro jutro" of a morning. We found them very accommodating to requests for information and my only additional request of a second pillow.
Our room was big enough, bed comfortable and aircon quiet. We didn't sit by the pool at all for the first week as it appeared noisy and most days all sunbeds seemed taken by 8:30. However, I am not sure if there had been complaints and a change in policy as this seemed to calm down in week 2 and a few days before we left, having been let down by the fish picnic trip booked in town, we walked back to find numerous beds available at 10:30am. On our last full day there was some obvious consternation around 8:30, as it seemed the attendant had removed towels etc which had been placed and then on our leaving day the beds were not even placed out at 8:30am. We ended up spending two days by the hotel during our stay, though away from the pool, and although there were numerous children around we didn't find it too bothersome.
Breakfast is very good. Excellent choice.
Overall, I found the hotel as I would expect for the price paid.

Orebic

Orebic has a number of restaurants and we didn't have a bad meal. Andiamo was probably the best and the lamb " under the bell" was excellent. You have to reserve this in advance. We also liked Mimbelli, Babilons, Pizzeria la casa and Amfora.
Piazetta provides delicious lunches/ light bites if, as we did on one or two occasions, you have a heavy lunchtime meal. More importantly Piazetta serve up an outstanding G and T garnished with a sprig of rosemary which seems to complement perfectly. The staff are very friendly.
Close to the hotel is Bacva beach bar which has a wonderfully laid back atmosphere and very efficient serving staff. I highly recommend the chicken burger with a cold beer for lunchtime. Other bars we enjoyed included Tri palme, though be aware they don't have a toilet and also Caballero.
Croccantino provide delicious cakes, coffee and ice cream. Oaza also have excellent ice cream.
So overall a very relaxing place, not particularly expensive with enough to occupy ourselves, an active and we believe, young at heart middle aged couple.
