Avoid:
Rooms that face the road, if you need a quite night to sleep, avoid any rooms that face the road, there's lot of noise in the night.
We didnt stay
Mikael Won 26/07/2017 18:46Very bad location and very unfriendly staff. They tried to charge us 25 € for two small dogs, each. They don't have any information about the high rate when you do the booking - you get the information after your booking. (If you use booking.com) In our case we could'nt cancel without paying 90 % . They refused to discuss the price when we was in the reception. They know of course we had to pay if we cancelled. We cancelled anyway. We felt cheated and didn't want to be at the place.
Now we have found a much better hotel with very friendly staff and with a good location.
Lovely place
Cecilie Ron 22/07/2017 21:47We just had one night there on our way though Germany and Poland, so we wasnt there for long.
But it's a lovely hotel, we had a nice big room with a bathtub - which was great after 7 hours on the road.
The staff was friendly and helpfull - and the breakfast was served from 6, which was great, because then we could eat early and hit the road.
All in all - 3 out of 5
Mitra Kon 11/07/2017 17:27We were in Hamburg on a business trip, and didn't choose the hotel by ourselves. We found out which hotel it would be the moment we were in front of it. The positive aspects were perfectly clean rooms and bathroom, fast wi-fi free of charge and the staff. Breakfast was good, I liked the fact that they had quite nice selection of cheese, it was perfect for me. There is a supermarket just behind the hotel, which is also great. The downsides, as I can see almost everyone mentioned, is it's unfortunate location. My room was overlooking the road, so it was a bit noisy. Luckily, in July daylight is veeeery long, the dusk is not until 10:30pm, so it wasn't terrible to walk from the metro, and since we were there on business, we returned before dark. But, even in the daylight, it was obvious that the neighbourhood was not very charming... It indeed looked a bit shady and unsafe. The safest solution is to take a taxi if returning late. All in all, as I said in the headline 3 out of 5
Good hotel, terrible location
Wayne Ton 23/05/2017 19:32We stayed here for one night as part of a Musical (The Lion King) trip to Hamburg. The hotel is good and the staff very accommodating. The room was clean and the breakfast was of a good standard. According to the Internet they have four stars which was given to them two years ago and is due for renewal in 2018, my guess is they will lose one star. At the moment there are major roadworks right next to the hotel which makes it difficult to get to if you are following a sat nav. Still that is not the fault of the hotel. Now the real down side, this hotel is in a really rundown and rough area of Hamburg. The tram station is about a 8-10 minute walk from the hotel, which in its self is ok, but you walk through a really rough area to get there. In daylight it was bad but at night it was really frightening. Would not recommend this for girls on their own. If you are going everywhere by car and can negotiate the roadworks then this is not a bad place to stay.
