Value Of A Stay!
dooger70on 05/12/2016 22:23Its definately worth a stay if you are on a budget. Keep in mind its an older hotel and needs some serious updating. Service was great. We had an issue with their guest washer and dryer and it was fixed immediately. Rooms are fairly clean and smell nice. The room we got had a heater/ac that blew hot during the day and cold at night. Not something you want on a cold December night. I only saw one roach in the room and that was when we were packing up to leave. The manager told us they are going to do some updates, so the rates will be going up but not by much.
Great place to stay in Branson MO
Ronald Bon 03/11/2016 15:20The Gretna Inn in Branson Mo is a great place to stay, it is clean, the staff is friendly and very helpful. The Gretna Inn is within walking distance to great places to eat and family orientated attractions, as well as being priced right.
Not the same
Cassie Ron 25/07/2016 01:27We have stayed at the Gretna for going on 5 years. Richard and Raquel were wonderful owners. They recently have sold the business and moved. It just isn't the same.
When you walk in the lobby; all you smell is cigarette smoke. We didn't have any price issues as I have seen in some other comments. Once getting to our room; the air conditioner wouldn't turn on. My husband went to the lobby and a young boy was told to get his PaPa. The PaPa was up there pretty quickly and got our air up and running quickly. He was friendly. The beds were hard, which has never been a complaint of mine and we have stayed here at least 15 times. None of the same maintainance workers were there, which isn't a surprise with new ownership, but the same standards aren't there yet. On the plus side; they are friendly and doing several updates to the property.
Locked out of room!
LamplightHillon 09/06/2016 02:18We've stayed several times at Gretna Inn, and were satisfied. Clean rooms at a reasonable price. No real breakfast, but on a gluten/dairy free diet, few hotels offer much for us, so we don't care. Our problem with Gretna Inn was only on our last stay. We checked in in the afternoon, and put our things in our room. When we checked in, we were charged a higher price than we agreed to when making the reservation, but I didn't have the exact price with me, so I wasn't prepared to argue. When we came back to our room at night, we couldn't get our door to unlock. My husband tried both keys repeatedly, but couldn't open the door. I went to the office and there was a doorbell for after hours, which I rang-- and had no response. I rang many times and knocked on the windows of the attached room, laundry, etc....and rang again. After some time we had not reached anyone. I finally called the police, who were gracious enough to call the emergency number they had on file. The officer reached the owner, who called the rather unpleasant on-site manager. He finally pushed and pulled on the door while unlocking it, until he figured out which arrangement worked. The owner and manager never offered an apology. We don't plan on going back. There are many clean, low-cost hotels in Branson which have someone available for such emergencies.
