Not Worth It
Hobochikenon 12/06/2016 18:03We were first drawn here because of the lowish price it offered but we messed up big time. The staff there is also very willy nilly and will decide when it is convenient for them to help you out with something. The place is also incredibly dirty and very hot and it's composed of a very big central dorm with three floor capsule rooms. This means that there's always someone being noisy and the way the room is arranged means that you're always woken up by someone getting up to go to the bathroom. Lastly, the beds themselves are very uncomfortable (even for Japanese beds). Would not stay here again.
Stay Away ! Terrible hostel.
Nicholas Won 22/03/2016 15:29Please stay from this awful hostel. The service offered by staff is terrible. They clearly do not care about the people who pay them and keep them on business. I don't even know how they have a rating above 2 / 5.
Do not book.
Ever wondered what it's like to live in a hostel?
cutiaon 04/09/2013 17:37So, kicking off our Okinawa trip here was generally speaking a bad choice. I think it was my own poor judgement, though -- to book beds in a dorm without paying attention to *how many beds there actually are* in the room. Because there were plenty, and with some guests who didn't seem to be traveling at all.
Some of the girls staying there really looked like they were living there. It's the small details that count: a girl who had a huge keyboard on her bed, a girl who had a mirror on a string, intricately tied on the upper part of her bed, a girl who seemed to be perpetually doing the laundry. Later on we found out that there actually *are* young people who live in hostels in Japan, for a million reasons which are not important for this review.
Don't get me wrong, I admire the adventurous people who are brave enough to live indefinitely in a hostel. And I'm not saying that people shouldn't be allowed to live in hostels -- especially if it's what they can afford and they don't break any hostel rules. But it does give you a weird feeling.
The bunk beds look like two sets of wooden capsules, one on each side of the corridor-looking dorm room. It creaks whenever someone moves (which is always, considering how many people there are). And the fact that the room is tiny and has no windows makes it worse: I'm not a claustrophobic person and I've stayed in capsule hotels, but Cam Cam's dorm was really disappointing.
Our stay was so frustrating that we moved out the next day, cancelling our reservation for the next 2 days. I'm glad I left and unfortunately I don't think I'm coming back.
Worst hostel EVER !!
Marie Don 12/07/2013 07:05This hostel looks totally different from the pictures! The girls dorm is for +- 20 people so you can imagine the noise and the heat. The air conditioning is only on during the night. The mattress is 2 cm tick... You can easily imagine how uncomfortable that is! And even after 6 nights I didn't get use to it...
The shower room is incredibly hot. There is mold everywhere!
The "staff members" actually live here. There are 10 japanese people who eat, shower, sleep, party, watch tv,... here! It doesn't feel like a youth hostel at all. The TV is always on and they monopolize the (already small) common area. The man come into the girls dorm or shower room for no reason every hour. These people are very loud and make noise until at least 12pm every night! The "staff members" are not friendly!
I really didn't like this hostel at all. I would not recommend it. Of course it's cheap but I'd rather sleep in jail than there!
