Under renovation
Juli Jon 23/05/2017 08:05We were attending a local festival and reserved two rooms at this property. Checked in to learn hotel under renovation, pool and spa closed and understaffed. Rooms were outdated and needed a good cleaning. Sheets had small stains and bath shower curtain was dirty and moldy. No washcloths in room and bath towels were mismatched and very small. Dust/dirt was visible around edges of carpet. We elected to run air conditioner as road outside too noisy with traffic to leave windows open. Bed was comfortable enough and was a full sized sofa in room. Desk chair and furniture were very worn out. Refrigerator and microwave in room were in working condition. Continental breakfast was very lacking of everything. Staff called in sick so front desk agent trying to do both jobs. Muffins, bread handled without gloves, ran out of hard boiled eggs, milk and yogurt. Two oranges were the only fruit left. Upon check out I commented that I wasn't very satisfied with property, but desk agent did not have anything to say and just provided me the receipts for rooms. Would have been nice to at least been informed about renovation in advance. I would stay elsewhere at least until renovations have been completed and property is better staffed and equipped to handle guests.
If you just need a bed, it may meed your needs but you can hear everything through the walls.
teri1352on 23/05/2017 05:26Just know that whatever you say can be heard through the walls. We arrived and realized the place is torn apart, no one was at the desk, the place had no lobby, no breakfast room, and was a total mess as it is being remodeled. When people rent a room they should be advised that the place is a shambles. We would never, ever stay there again. We were next to the garbage dump and there was a motel 8 across the parking where there was a loud tailgate party going on. The only redeeming quality was that in one of the guest rooms, they had set up boiled eggs and other cheap breakfast items these being the white bagels that are like cardboard and the worst of the worst cheap cold cereal. It was good for an egg and to go eat breakfast somewhere else. We were appalled at the shape the place was in and would have asked for our money back other than it was just for overnight. Hopefully when the remodeling is finished one will not be able to hear the conversation of the people next door or see a garbage dump outside the window.
If all you need is a bed, this may meet your needs.
walterandcharlieon 17/05/2017 04:34Starting with the positive. This hotel is pet friendly. The room was adequate. The staff is friendly and helpful. All I was looking for was a place to sleep, and thanks to having a room not on the street side, it was quiet. Now for the bad. The bed had two body sized divots- it is in desperate need of being replaced. The room was worn. The hotel is undergoing renovations, so lots of exposed insulation, and studs.
Options for dog friendly hotels are somewhat limited, and I would rate this hotel above the Red Lion (which I would not recommend). I will continue to hunt for a better option, but this may be the best option in McMinville.
Very good value for the money
Al Eon 08/05/2017 19:14I just moved to McMinnville & needed to stay somewhere for two nights until my house was finished. I looked at all available options and was leery at first based on the price but it turned out to be a very nice hotel with friendly staff and a very clean room / bathroom. It's undergoing some renovation & the pool was closed but I didn't want to swim anyway. It's close by to a number of stores, restaurants, etc & one night I had very good Italian food delivered from a restaurant they recommended.
I've travelled extensively and for the same money that I paid for this hotel in Sacramento you'd end up in a run down LaQuinta Inn. if I'm going to be staying somewhere for more than two night I now use AirBNB & they've always been a great deal for the money.
renovation redo
wbsnider69on 30/04/2017 20:54the hotel was undergoing a much needed renovation, which we were not made aware of at the time of booking, 2 months ago. furniture, carpeting, elevators were threadbare, trashbags was left in the halway over night, the breakfast area had a one-cup coffee maker, and the little else for their continental breakfast. I would encourage anyone to stay somewhere else until the redo is finished, date unknown. the staff was helpful and understanding of the problems.
