Comfortable And Charming
Andrew Oon 02/01/2017 18:28We stayed just one night, in order to attend the News Years Day concert in the cathedral. Being a music-lover I was immediately impressed by the lovely old grand piano in the spacious lobby. There was help yourself coffee and cake available at all times, the room was large, warm and with good WiFi. The shower room was very small with no shelf in the shower for shampoo etc. The beds were quite soft. The breakfast was superb and the staff very kind and friendly. We will return.
Extremely helpful staff
Fred Mon 30/07/2016 19:53Good location near water and everything worthwhile.
Comfortable rooms & cozy environment.
Delicate breakfast buffet.
But best of all kind and tremendously helpful staff.
Was foolish to forget my backback with IPad, Kindle, cell phone, and camera.
Not only was everything returned, but also sent by DHL to my home address!
Remarkable place in a listed monument
Uwe Don 21/03/2016 22:45A listed monument turned into a small hotel.
Remarkable, details, and worth viewing (and staying!).
Downsides? As of today (March 2016) an eyesore of a building site to the right of the hotel. A modern interior of only the rooms not quite fitting to the style of the fascinating rest of the estate. An out-of-style selling of Arabic arts. Why not local stuff?
Really nice breakfast in the beautiful breakfast room.
My envy is for the separated room next to it. If I were close to Schleswig and wanted a private festivity, I'd surely rent it!
There is a bar downstairs with self-service.
Always recommended!
A brief overnight stay..
CharlesAdams1959on 09/11/2014 18:39Stayed in hotel arriving late in evening and departing early next morning. Bedroom and bed was comfortable if not a little spartan. as was shower room, no bath. In the morning, a beautiful view of the garden. Cold table breakfast was good and the coffee normal German high calibre :-). I think the hotel was a little pricey for the stay but I have no real complaints except that I had no chance to walk in the gardens before I had to depart for my business meetings.
A boutique hotel with character
Oxtedsurreyon 02/08/2014 20:41The Zollhaus is the old customs house that has been converted into a small boutique hotel. The building has plenty of character and has been nicely converted. I found the bed (and duvet) to be very comfortable and the bathroom, although small, had more quality toiletries than your average Boots the Chemist. The room itself was nothing particularly special.
The owner was very welcoming and speaks good English. Breakfast was of good quality and the offer of freshly fried eggs was gratefully received. Parking is off road and directly in front of the hotel.
A quiet and restful location. I would stay here again.
