Total toilet hole
Desaiclon 13/08/2017 21:59Travelling to Spain on a four star all inclusive I don't expect the ritz Carlton but to check in to a room after having to wait four hours for it and which smells damp, has water cascading from the a/c, bubbling floors and walls from the water leaking everywhere to be told no rooms till tomorrow! Eventually got moved to a substandard three star apartment on the same complex. After having to move cases through the streets and inclines with an 8 and 9 year old.
The reception was not interested just rolled their eyes, continuing to book others in to the hotel there are so many restrictions on your all inclusive ration books should be issued and don't dare enter the payment bar only!!
The restaurant is similar to the bull run and the waiting staff all look miserable as sin, but working in such a hovel I'm not surprised!
The food in the restaurant once you can get to it is ok and quite editable with limited choice.
I've only booked for four nights it's going to be the longest four nights of my life !
Ok if you have booked a four star suite- biggest problem is the lack of respect from guests.
2017marieon 12/08/2017 17:28Just returned from a lovely 10 night stay there. I've got to say I was really worried about the reviews before I went. It was no where near as bad as I was expecting. I think it's all down to individuals expectations and the standard of room booked. Also I would say that some of the faults are due to the guests (of all nationalities) staying there.
Please be aware that there are a lot of steps so expect to be kept fit!!
We stayed in a junior suite with a double room partitioned with sliding doors to a room with 3 beds. Our room was clean, maids came every day and were always pleasant. I would say rooms could do with a spot of redecorating but with the amount of people they get through the door not everyone is going to treat rooms with respect and therefore there will be some scuffs and marks in places.
The waterpark was not finished but we were given a 7day pass to the local waterpark which was actually better for us as our children are older. Although I can understand how disappointing it would be for those with younger children.
Our room was positioned just by the lifts/stairs and the first week was not too noisy but a group of French students arrived during the second week and evenings became more noisy. It is a family hotel with a big age range of children staying. Early mornings we were woken anything from 7.00am with younger children excitedly screaming and running up and down the corridors going to breakfast, then at night, the older teenage age range were running around , up and down the stairs screaming and shouting up to 1.00am.
Food:
It is a huge complex with different restaurants. We were all inclusive and our allocated restaurant was the 'Mediterano' . Food was ok but at times it became very busy and there were long queues to get a table. It didn't help that some people decided to bypass the queue through the toilets and seat themselves. This made waiting times longer for those who were queuing. I have two very fussy children but they managed to find something to eat every mealtime even if it was just a roll with butter. Don't expect chicken nuggets and chips every night if you have fussy eaters like me.
Breakfast was a choice of; cereals (coco pops, sugar puffs, muesli, and two others??); toast or bread with ham cheese etc; choice of pastries (chocolate pain, croissant, danish); cooked breakfast (scrambled egg, tomatoes, beans, bacon, sausage) nb. The sausage and bacon are not the same as here in uk.
Lunch; soup, selection of bread ham cheese, pasta and choice of sauces, salad, cooked meat and either chips, wedges, jacket potato, potato gratin.
Evening: same as lunch.
There were hotdogs or sandwiches as snacks as well as ice cream, crisps and nuts.
The complex is beautiful and the pools are lovely but deep. Unless you go in the baby pool. I would recommend arm bands for children who are not strong swimmers as I couldn't touch the bottom so couldn't stand as a support if my child couldn't quite swim to the other side. There is the usual problem of not enough sun beds and people queuing early to get a good position then leaving their towels and going off!!
Overall though we enjoyed our stay. 😀
Not Great Generally
Kerrie Won 09/08/2017 21:50Just got back from ten nights ...honest review time .. hotel complex massive so you may like us get a room miles away from the pool. It's not great if you have mobility issues lots and lots of steps all around the hotel. Food at the bar at the pool consists of only hot dogs or really crap cold sandwiches and that as ALL the choice you have. No fun allowed at the pool the guy blows his wistle constantly no jumping in diving floaties allowed. Packed around the pool also NO chance is a sunned unless you go up on the terrace and tackle the steps but this isn't guaranteed either. Lloret is really tacky if you go into town Blackpool abroad and that's being nice! Fenals beach which is down the steps opposite the hotel is lovely however just not enough choice for food until you walk down and then you merge with the riffraff! Shame but wouldn't go back
Not a bad holiday. Resort not big enough for amount of guests
Richard Pon 08/08/2017 10:25We had a good holiday here and after reading some of the reviews I was worried this would not be the case.
The rooms were average (guitart 2) which was 4 star and more like 3 star. They were not very big and a little shabby and nothing like brochure pictures but they served as a base and somewhere to sleep.
The reception were always very helpful to us and resolved any problems straight away that we had during our stay.
There was always some sort of entertainment each night for the kids although not amazing but it was ok.
We went half board and the food was ok and what you would expect from a very busy resort catering for a lot of people especially catering for people from other European countries.
The negatives.....
Water park nowhere near being finished and I doubt it will be completed this season.
This was a shame because we booked the hotel for this reason alone and we were very disappointed that this was not complete.
We complained and got a weeks pass to the local waterpark water world.
Hotel has far too many guests and not enough amenities to cater for everybody.
Most days there was no sun beds available at any of the 3 pools.
Most evenings there were no chairs and tables available to sit down with a drink and
Relax. Both due to too many guests and did have a impact on our holiday experience.
Summary
Good location and near the beach
Food ok not amazing
Entertainment ok
Rooms not like brochure or 4 star as advertised.
Not enough amenities to cater for volume of guests.
Rooms always cleaned every day.
Reception always helpful
WATER PARK NOT OPEN FOR A LONG TIME YET.
We had a good holiday but it could have been better if for not the few negatives above.
good holiday
Andrea Hon 07/08/2017 11:04I have just returned from our 10 day holiday here and see there are very mixed reviews.
Will start with room, we were in a 4 star family suite and i have to say i was very happy with room. It was a good size with balcony on each room, bathroom was good size and the shower was excellent. The rooms were cleaned every day and fresh towels left so thank you to cleaning staff. The pool area, well you need to be up at crack of dawn to get a bed at the lower pool as the guest are up putting towels on loungers then go back to bed. The upper pool loungers are chained up and not unlocked until around 9.30, again people hanging around waiting to grab beds and unfortunately if you dont join the stampede you dont get a bed. We preferred the upper pool but be warned there are alot of stairs to climb to this pool so if your mobility is not great then it will be a struggle. There are some repairs needing done around the pool area as there are some broken tiles which could be dangerous. It can get very messy around the pool but this is down to lazy people not picking there rubbish up behind them, we watched many a family walk away from their loungers and leave food, cups and lolly wrappers underneath. The bar staff were friendly enough but there are a few who need some customer service training (the 2 older gentlemen in the lower bar) the 2 younger men were very friendly, wish i could remember their names. The drink situation does seem to be unfair, if your all inclusive you get your beer in a tiny cup but if your paying you can have a pint cup, i paid for my drinks in advance so should be entitled to the same. The big disappointment was the slides at pool not being ready, we booked this hotel because it stated it had a aqua park as my sons are 15 an 13 an they need something to keep hem entertained while you relax by the pool. The hotel did give us free tickets to water world which both boys enjoyed and its only 5 mins bus ride away. The food was good, there was always something you could have, my youngest a bit fussy so he ate pasta most night. I did find people rude at meal times, you could be queuing for the toaster and people would just push in so be aware to inform them there is a line. WI FI is not free, 20 euro a week and did not work for 1 son but they did refund it. Location is great, 2 minute walk to the hustle an bustle an 10 to beach. Overall we enjoyed our holiday.
