Priviledge Room
Cassie_Canterburyon 25/08/2017 12:22We stayed for 3 nights for our first anniversary. Having booked via lastminute.com for a standard room we were not expecting too much when I emailed the hotel directly to ask whether it would be possible to have a room with a nice view just because we were celebrating.
Imagine our happy surprise when we checked in and found that we had been upgraded to a Priviledge room with beautiful shower room with waterfall shower, robes, slippers, Nespresso machine and huge bed. Granted our stay was over a Sunday and weekday night, but this was really a great surprise and started our trip very well.
We did not have breakfast there as it was not included and we preferred to explore, however our experience was that the hotel was very clean, with friendly reception staff and good coffee! We didn't drink anything from the minibar, but we did find the fridge itself very useful for storing our own water and fruit.
The location was also very good as there is a row of really nice restaurants just behind the hotel, and attractions such as the musee de l'hospice are just 10 mins walk.

Disappointing
pfchaon 12/08/2017 16:01We booked a Mercury Hotel, expecting a higher standard. There was no restaurant, no bar except a fridge with a very limited range of drinks. The bathroom was tiny and the room very small.
Other Mercures we have stayed at had all the facilities.
The saving grace was the proximity of many good restaurants and on site underground car parking
Stylish and nice location
aspu2014on 28/07/2017 21:36Spent two night in March there. Old Lille was beautiful and romantic, lots of restaurants, cafes, shops and bars. Relatively small rooms with "romantic" view, but that didn't bother me. Good service, stylish lobby and atrium cafe.

Lovely visit
JMD1231on 19/07/2017 19:49We visited Lille just for an afternoon many years ago & vowed to come back. And a few days ago we did just that. The hotel is situated in the old town just off the street with many Estaminets & bars serving local food & drinks. Easy reach of the main square & the Citadel with surrounding park. The hotel is clean & modern with polite, helpful staff. Doesn't have a bar as such but the reception staff will get you whatever you want to drink. It's also an easy walk from the Eurostar so we will be back for an overnight (it's so easy!).
