Patrice Pon 28/08/2016 05:28We did not know the restaurant, we had received a recommendation that we would have a gastronomic experience, such experience was unfortunately not available.
The taste of "amuse bouche" were suspicious, the boeuf and lamb tenderloin very average, but brie and dessert were good. No one could advise on champagne and wine. The service was average at best with lines like "when I have time I will bring you your wine..."
Delicious food, charming rooms
Family-travel-troupeon 21/07/2016 20:42Great location near the castle and river. The rooms are charmingly decorated and ours had a great shower which was much appreciated after a day spent cycling. The restaurant was excellent with delicious food and attentive service. Tables offered pleasant views over the river and outside terrace available. Both fish and steak were very good and the desserts were tasty. The only disappointment was the breakfast which was served in a back room and was not freshly prepared.
Very Up Market Food
Lindybowon 16/07/2016 21:24We did not stay at the hotel but visit near to Combourg every year but this was our first visit to the restaurant.
We went with the middle prix fixe menu, it contained some things that my limited french could not compute but with a little help from our lovely waitress we got through the menu.
From the amuse bouche to the mint choc while we were settling up we were treated like royalty, everything was cooked to perfection and the service was second to none.
We sat in the terrace part of the restaurant and could see the lake, it was a lovely evening - even with the rain.
Good selection of wines that complimented the food, water was provided without us having to ask and i would happily recommend this restaurant to anyone who is visiting the area.
Great hotel in lovely location
HazelKon 14/06/2016 20:13We stayed one night at the hotel and were welcomed by their trainee receptionist who summoned the owner to help out. The owner, and her husband were both really helpful and polite.
We parked the car behind the hotel for the evening in a super little courtyard with some beautiful gardens, don't miss them! We had to move the car onto the road whilst we were off on our cycling tour but it is very safe there so we had no worries.
Our room was well appointed with a modern and spacious bathroom. There was a small step between the bathroom and the bedroom which caught us out a couple of times but that could have been the aperos.
The hotel is well located and within walking distance of all amenities, shops and restaurants in this lovely town. It is in a super setting between the lake and the chateau, plenty of photos were taken!
Good hotel with an excellent restaurant
Roidesalineon 01/05/2016 19:00We stayed on one night en route elsewhere. Just what is needed for travelers. Parking outside the hotel and good welcome and clean, neat and quiet rooms. The restaurant food is excellent. We had a set menu and it was excellent quality and value. The only downside is that the is no lift for anyone disabled and the wifi is so complicated to set up for half hour sessions that we gave up trying to connect. Do not be put off by these minor points for this is a really good hotel with a good location in a lovely town. If we are that way again we will return.
