Outdated Architecture
Neon27on 08/06/2017 14:12What a fantastic golf course! For wonderful and challenging nine-hole horses to be combined in any order set in a marvellous landscape. You don't find this sort of golf courses not very often around Europe. Such a pity that you cannot say the same about the hotel. It's outdated architecture reminds very much to the spartan socialist building of former GDR. Rooms are minimalistic, but sufficient. Beds were too soft for my taste. Breakfast is very disappointing. The fastidious golfer spoilt by luxury hotels you typically find on golf courses like that would be very unhappy. Fortunately, the staff was utmost service oriented and friendly. The pro shop stands out through a comprehensive assortment.
Don't be put of staying here if you're visiting Amsterdam
kaylaelson 05/06/2017 20:00Myself and my partner booked to stay here as it was cheap but we did have mixed feelings about booking this hotel as it wasn't in Amsterdam city centre. When we arrived the staff were very helpful and gave us a bus timetable from the nearest bus stop to Amsterdam central bus station. The bus station was a 5 minute walk from the hotel and the busses were always on time! It took 30 mins max to get to Amsterdam central and cost €10 for a return ticket. Once you get to know the bus timetable etc getting to and from the centre is no problem. Overall, the hotel was idyllic and you shouldn't be put off staying here if you will be spending most of your time in dam centre.
Mixed feelings
Max Son 30/05/2017 21:57Visited here for 2 nights on our car trip through europe. The room we got at first night smelled like old sweat and we didnt even get used to the smell during night. Staff propably knew this because they had left window open and used somekinda of a fragrance to cover the smell. Keeping window open for extensive times had also resulted as bird fecies all over curtains, what a delight. Cant say anything good about the bathroom either.
Next morning we went to complain to reception and they immediately gave us newer renovated room. They must have known the condition of our first room, cos no questions were asked. Second room was clean and decent, no complains, but couldnt fix the bad impression we got from this hotel.
Breakfast was adequate, but nowhere near 4 star hotel. Did its job, but we missed fresh fruits and vegetables.
For a 4 star hotel this was a disappointment and giving out room in such bad condition is unacceptable.
Quiet and Beautiful
on 19/05/2017 21:54Hampshire Golfhotel is a quiet and beautiful hotel away from the city of Amsterdam. The customer service is top notch, and the rooms were great. Although it's about 30 mins away from Amsterdam tourist spots, the bus system makes it easy to get back and forth to the hotel. It is well worth the travel to and from the city. The added bonus is you get to see the beautiful countryside, and you get to sleepisode in a quiet, peaceful and secure area.
Nice Price and Comfortable Room
Caratime2on 19/05/2017 15:13I stayed at this hotel for one night on my way to a training session in Haarlem. The price was very attractive compared to places closer to the training venue. On the day I was there the weather was wonderful, and a group of from KLM were having a gathering, so the atmosphere was quite relaxed and jolly.
My room was large and the bed was very comfortable. There were a few minor repairs/updates that would have made the room that much more attractive, but all-in-all I was quite satisfied.
I also ate in the hotel restaurant, and was very happy with the quality of the food and service.
