What People are saying

Awesome place!

This was a great place to stay. Felt very home like.
Would definitely stay again. Front desk lady was very nice and helpful. We have small children and needed milk for the babies. The lady offered to get us some from the gallery. It was very appreciated!

Nice modern hotel in awful place

Friendly staff, good rooms, modern lobby and breakfast area. Liked this hotel. Pleasant overnight and good experience. Awful town (sorry NM).

Stay there if you need an overnight - recommended.

Slight issues with the keycards which did not work.

Best Place to Stay in Farmington

The nicest place to stay, in a less than appealing location. Typical of all Hampton's, this one had nice rooms, a good hot breakfast, and complementary Wifi. Also well located, sitting close to the intersection of NM Highways 64 & 550.

quiet hotel near the main road

great hotel for a quiet night of sleep. good clean rooms. great breakfast in the morning. good place to go for a run. discovered a river trail after i completed my run. a clock radio would be nice. friendly staff.

First, let me say that I don't usually write negative reviews... unless there's just too many issues that I simply cannot ignore it anymore. I have a high tolerance for this kind of stuff... but this time I've ran into so many unbelievable problems here.

Stayed here last summer for two nights on the way back home from a long trip out west, and it was just fine. Can't say the same this time.

Issue #1... the room was freezing cold when we got to it, A/C wouldn't turn off.. turned it up to 90 & it still ran. Turned on the heat, nothing happened, A/C still ran. Wall thermostat just wouldn't control the the unit. I called the front desk, the clerk came up & turned the unit off using the master switch & told us that if we got hot, to call the front desk & they'll come turn it back on. That was unbelievable. After she left, I opened the front of the unit, turned the master switch back on, and realized that the thermostat on the actual unit worked just fine.. so I removed their "unit is controlled by wall thermostat" sign they had covering the unit thermostat, & have been adjusting it using the unit controls. Not sure why the front desk clerk didn't realize this. There was no way I was going to have someone come up every couple hours to turn the thing on and off.

After that issue, issue #2 arose... we discovered that the coffee pot had no basket inside it to make coffee. It was gone. Called downstairs again, the front desk clerk said that they were completely out of the baskets, and that they'd ordered them and were "suppose to come in today"... asked if she could just get a coffee pot from an unoccupied room for us to use, she said that NONE of the rooms had baskets for their coffee pots.. NONE.. but "we have fresh coffee in the lobby". The only place in the hotel to get coffee was in the lobby. This is inexcusable. Luckily, I had some extra coffee that I'd taken from a couple Hyatt Places we'd stayed at during this trip (their coffee packs have a plastic basket included in the pack), and we were able to use that to make coffee here. That's two major issues within a couple hours that I, as a paying guest & Diamond HHonors member, fixed myself because the hotel was either unwilling or unable to correct the issues. For the record, the clerk we dealt with on these two issues was very friendly, just not very helpful.

Then, when it came time to put up the "Do Not Disturb" sign for the night.. you guessed it.. NOWHERE to be found. Called the front desk AGAIN, the clerk said she'd "hang one on the door" for us. This was a different clerk from the one earlier in the evening.

I just looked, and my handwritten DND sign is gone.. and an actual DND sign is there.

So, at least they're 1 for 3 on addressing issues.

Bravo. *slow clap*

I'm here for one more night, so who knows if other issues arise before I check out. And yea, I mentioned my Diamond status with Hilton Honors.. I've never "status dropped" before on a review, but the problems I've had so far on this stay have just really irked me. I truly hate complaining... I usually let things slide & just won't write a review, period, if there's some issue, instead of writing a negative one. Sadly, this was one of those times where I feel compelled to write a review that is negative.

Hopefully, they get their act together before next summer when I come through here again.
