This is an excellent hostel if you're stopping through Amsterdam and don't want to pay hotel prices. The number 2 or 5 trams will stop at the end of the street so it's really easy to get to, and then if you're struggling to figure out where it is on the street, there's a massive sign outside that says "hotel" so Yknow, hard to miss. Which is actually very helpful as just across the road there is a coffee shop for "coffee".
The atmosphere in the hostel is wonderful, the staff are happy with the graffiti in the lifts and toilets because it actually gives the impression that people have been here and have helped make the hostel what it is; a haven for young travellers.
Breakfast is included in the hostel price and is a decent spread, continental and English mixed. I would've loved a waffle but we can't have everything.
The rooms are comfortable enough ALTHOUGH, I Don't know what the plan was with that ladder to the top bunk as pictured, that has one rung too many. Banged my shin a few times but I have the balance and grace of a drunk elephant.
4/5...stars? Is that what TripAdvisor uses? The missing factor is the fact the bottom floor is a club. Which is fine, but i found it odd that a club is in the same building as where people sleep. If that was my type of night, that'd be a 5/5. Unfortunately it didn't quite hit that mark but that's not to be taken as a point against the hostel, just my personal review.

I'd definitely return, even just for the atmosphere and attitude of the staff. Fantastic.

Me and my girlfriend stayed here in January for a night. The hostels great with a really lively vibe and right in the heart of Amsterdam. The rooms are basic and so's the breakfast but its ok for the money and a great base to discover Amsterdam. will definitely return

The hostel is located in a very good area of the city. It is perfect for young people, especially between 20-25. The rooms are not beautiful and not very clean mainly the bathroom . Breakfast is good.

I stayed here for one night. I was nervous at first as the hostel seems to pride itself on being a dirty party hostel, but actually I was presently surprised. The room was basic but clean, although the shower was a bit rubbish. The breakfast was fantastic and the bar area was lovely. The location was perfect for many of the museums. Overall, it was great value for money.

We booked this hotel as part of our inter railing trip so weren't expected anything amazing but it really was good.
The stafff are all so friendly and helpful (including all the maids - who clean and give you new towels every morning).
The rooms are clean and a great bar and food thing downstairs, as well as a club. It's in a excellent location, so many shops, restaurants and "coffee" shops (happy feelings was our fav).
Would deffo stay here again as prt of a travelling experience. 100% for younger people who don't take themselves too seriously and open to making new friends.
