Terrible Layover Experience

Beds and room were fine, although the service by hotel staff was terrible. They would not exchange money for us even though we had legitimate currency, they offered free wifi but it did not work and they were incapable of fixing it in our room. Due to the lack of currency conversion we had to dine at their restaurant, which the staff in the restaurant pretty much forced us in to eating their buffet which set us back $56 for 2 and was disgusting, I don't eat meat and their "curry with vegetables" had pork balls in it??? Why! If you are flying with China Southern and have an overnight layover DO NOT use this hotel.

I was put up here overnight by China Southern so I was only in the room for about 3 hours. The room was lovely, very big, 2 big beds. great bathroom. They gave us a little takeaway breakfast as we headed to the airport. I wish I had more time to enjoy the hotel. Only 15 min from the airport.

We stayed here during a layover at the Baiyun Airport in Guangzhou. The hotel staff was kind and accomadating. The hotel rooms are very clean and stocked with all the amenities you could want, and the beds are very comfortable. We happened to get a suite that was very spacious but almost too big! The breakfast in the morning is a lavish array of various foods to satisfy everyone. Fresh fruit, eggs, dumplings, rice, cereal, yogurt, noodle soup... You get the idea. No complaints, except none of the (many) wifi routers provided enough wifi for my iPad. But who cares, unless you need wifi to do business, which I did not. Also, there was a non-smoking sign in our room but also an ashtray with cigarette ash in it? Not smoky enough to bother me, and I'm usually sensitive. The shuttle to the airport in the morning was very convenient.

Clean hotel and English speaking staff

During my stay in China and approximately 6 nights in Guangzhou, we managed to check in to around 5 different hotels during our stay as I had found it quite difficult to find a nice, clean hotel which did not smell.

This hotel was decent but there was a few things they could've done improved. The bed was slightly too soft for my liking and I found the lights were not bright enough if needed to sort out suitcases etc. The towels smelt strongly of bleach which made me felt quite sick.

We tried lunch at the hotel and found the food quite oily (which made me feel quite sickly) they got one of our orders wrong but charged us for a dish which we never requested for. When we told the staff, she was not happy with us even though she took it of the bill.

Overall, the stay was better than average. The rooms were clean, spacious and they spoke English. They could definitely improve on their customer services if they want people to return.

Fresh renovated rooms

Clean, large and newly renovated rooms made for a nice stay. The outside of the hotel may want an update after the rest of the renovation is completed.

Staff were helpful and friendly, including helping me find local transport. I took the hourly (free) airport shuttle at 6am for my morning flight. The airport is about 15- 20 minutes away, but taxis will complain bitterly about such a short ride if you start from the airport, so better to arrange a shuttle bus for arrival.
