You can just stay at this hotel for its location. Its just Wow! Exquisite. The hotel in itself is very well maintained with rooms with a balcony view of the river bed.

The rooms are clean and the service is prompt. The food quality is very good.

Polo bar gives you a feeling of sitting in the British era bars with peace.

The breakfast is good. The environment is just so relaxing and peaceful.

The one star i took away is basically because the wifi connection was really poor and couldn't connect at all. Also I couldn't sit and have an evening meal in the gardens as they had taken away the tables due to rain. Will visit again to experience that!

fantastic hotel with mesmerising views

I have been travelling to Jammu for the last maybe thirty years but never bothered to look beyond the few decent hotels in the city proper. This time as I had my family with me I thought of trying out Hari Niwas Palace. It is situated slightly out of town(say 2-3 kms)but once you reach it is a fantastic oasis of clam & natural beauty. We took the deluxe rooms with balcony, the view from there of the river & mountains was picture postcard. The service was impeccable & food quality top notxch, whether you order pasta or indian food or KASHMIRI WAZWAN.All in all my family & I enjoyed ourselves thouroughly.Highly recommended

Dinner with the Royals

The garden restaurant of Hari Niwas Palace has a majestic view overlooking the Jammu Tawi. On a clear night one can see the lights of Jammu and the illuminated path to Mata Vaishno Devi on Trikuta Hills.
The Garden restaurant has a royal ambience making every customer feel as royalty, it has an age old charm of pomp and revelry that the royals enjoyed. The staff is very courteous and the management has taken pains to keep the antiques in pristine conditions.
The food is good in quality and quantity for a fine dining experience.

Modern Day Palace

This was the palace where the last ruler of Jammu and Kashmir Maharaja Hari Singh lived for few years before moving permanently to Mumbai. This palace was built in 20th Century and the only Dogra Ruler who was the occupant here was Hari Singh. The palace is located on the palace road in Jammu City. The location is good. River Tawi can be seen flowing from one side of the palace and the from the one side distant Trikuta hills are seen. Some portions of the palace is converted into a Herirage Hotel.
