Excellent Location! The Camper Cabin is Great!
Cellowuon 16/06/2017 16:43If you are to explore both Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks at the same time, there can not be a better place than Headwaters Lodge & Cabin at Flagg Ranch which sits right in between the two parks.
We stayed in the Camper Cabin, which gives us the campground atmosphere without the hassles of dealing with tents and camping equipment. At 70 bucks per night, we got a cabin with two bunk beds, a desk with two desk, and a dresser. It's clean, quiet (the campground enforces quiet hours after 10pm, or 11pm), and there is NO BUG! Outside, we park our car right in front, and there is a picnic table and a fire pit. Although there is no electricity or private bathroom, we charge our phones in the car when we drive, and the bathroom/toilet is easily accessed in the campground. Generally the toilet and bathroom are clean, although the hot water pressure is a little bit low.
The staff members at the front desk are extremely helpful. There are rangers there too providing useful information about the park. There is a bulletin board in the lobby detailing animal sightings in Grand Teton and predicted time of geyser spouting in Yellowstone.
What are the other big bonus? No Wi-Fi! Nothing could be better than to disconnect yourself while being surrounded by the natural beauty from the National Park!!! :)
Right in middle of both parks
Richard Son 15/06/2017 03:27Really enjoyed staying as it is on the north end of Grand Teton and South end of Yellowstone. used this as a satellite spot. drove each day to do a different loop in park. Drove to North gate and it is roughly 93 miles
Great location, pleasant stay
Edco42on 14/06/2017 22:48This campground is at the northern end on Grand Tetons National Park, very close to the border with Yellowstone. It's ideally situated for seeing both parks. It was pretty buggy in early June, but was overall a good experience. The store and gift shop are very nice. RV sites are well organized and clean. We had a great stay here and would return.
AMAZING! Camper Cabin is worth it!
Jen Won 09/06/2017 02:36We are a military family traveling on orders for a move from CT to CA. Doing Yellowstone/Tetons was on a wishlist but we can never afford hotels in the parks, so we've always skipped it due to time constraints with traveling to our destination making staying out of the parks not an option. We decided to "camp" one night of our 16 day road trip. I was nervous because we were kind of unprepared as the other 15 nights were hotels. We brought sheets, blankets and a headlamp. It was amazing. We got a cabin with 2 full beds. It fit my husband, myself and our 2 toddlers just fine. We made a campfire and sat under the stars. It was truly a priceless experience and an experience we all got to have together. The man at the check in desk was so nice and thorough with his explanations of things. The cabin was immaculate. Almost brand new. Check in and out was simple. The price was right. Campground is convenient to store and restaurant (where we ate). Our cabin was the very first one you see and it was perfect. I was worried about headlights during the night or noise but it was perfect. The fire pits have cool grates for cooking. The bath houses have wash sinks which was very accommodating for us. Definitely stay at the camper cabin vs. the hotel for the whole experience! Perfect location just outside of the south entrance. About an hour from old faithful. We will be back (and more prepared to camp!) Bring a flashlight for trips to the bathroom!!!!
Wonderful!
Jenflexon 08/06/2017 23:08We chose Flagg Ranch on the basis of a coworker's recommendation and for its location between Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. Our cabin was spacious and cozy (the rocking chairs on the porch were a nice touch) and Connie the resident Naturalist was so interesting...appreciated the hike and the informative talks she gave. This space is quieter and more contemplative than either Colter Bay or Jackson Lake Lodge...just right for our family.
Definitely bring bug repellent and water bottles...the drinking water is delicious right out of the tap, and I needed it as a dehydrated Midwesterner.
Staff were friendly and arranged for us to take a guided raft float down the Snake River...that was awesome!
Only issue was a clogged toilet, but staff were helpful and friendly, and resolved the problem. Would come back in a heartbeat!
