wisemonkeysabroadon 20/08/2017 10:04We booked a room with a king bed and upon arriving to our room, we found our room was not only dark and tired looking but also only a queen bed. We were not advised of the lack of availability of king rooms.
Upon contacting the front desk, we were offered an upgrade to a suite for a discount. We opted for this as we were not impressed with the original choice.
The suites are much better and more modern. The bed was very comfortable. The rooms were equipped with everything we needed. The towels were thin and rough. The bathroom toiletries weren't luxurious and if anything very basic.
The bathroom in the standard room was very "motel" looking and did not feel like hotel standard.
The staff were helpful and friendly enough but we felt they were a little unprofessional for not explaining why we hadn't received the room we actually booked for until we probed.
Location of the hotel is VERY good! In walking distance of everything.
A Nice Property
Michael Kon 19/08/2017 22:21This was a great location for someone visiting the city for the first time. The location was perfect for food, shopping, and use of the city's tram system. As the city of churches, you are in an awesome location. This is a beautiful city, I am sure you will enjoy your stay.
Great Service in Executive Lounge
sandyfSanDiegoon 18/08/2017 15:40Stayed here for four nights. The hotel is fine. It does not have a great lobby and the rooms are not particularly large, but they are nice and comfortable. We had a great stay in large part because of the staff in the executive lounge. Peter, who worked the lounge in the evening, found out my wife has celiac disease. So every night, he and the chef made special dips for my wife. They were wonderful. Peter also took good care of everyone else in the lounge. He was a real treat for the guests. The gym is being renovated, which is good, because some of the equipment can use improvement. The rest of the lounge staff and hotel staff were very nice. The location is good. I would definitely stay here again.
An overnight experience, not just a stay. The use of the executive lounge for pre dinner drinks was a definite highlight
mereditho173on 18/08/2017 00:24This was a quick but really enjoyable stay. A schmick room with a view, friendly staff and use of the exec lounge for lively pre-dinner drinks & then a quiet & private brekky with a view was a real bonus. Great hotel.
